Lakers forward-center Ronny Turiaf agreed to a four-year, $17 million offer from the Golden State Warriors, according to two league sources.

If Mitch even thinks about matching this offer he's a complete buffoon.

5 times the player Bonner is.

Bonner= $3million per year
Turaif= $4.433 milion per year

Neither player is worth what they are paid. In our case, Bonner is being paid dollars that could have went to a more productive player.

If Turiaf is smart he'll turn this down. Turiaf in Nellie Ball? He'll get 5 minutes a night.

I agree that this is a bad fit for both parties (GS and Turiaf) - but he has already signed the offer sheet so the only way he gets out of it is if the Lakers match it. Translation: Turiaf will be a Warrior this upcoming season.

No, Turiaf is a PF. The Lakers are going to go after a real backup C this year.

Well Turiaf played Center when Gasol sat on the bench, and actually did a decent job defending guys like Duncan.

I guess the real backup C you're referring to is Kurt Thomas?

Good move for the Warriors. He'll find minutes in Nellie's system because he has a reliable jumper. Not 3 point range but he'll get some open looks with Ellis, Maggette, and Jackson setting him up. He hustles, brings energy, and rebounds. Najera was a Nellie favorite in Dallas and he basically does the same thing.

I'd be extremely surprised if the Lakers match.

Yeah, an agile big who can hit the ten to twelve footer, who can also run up and down is bad in nellie ball. His agility and quickness will not suit their up and down style one bit.

Turiaf is perfect for Nellie ball.

I think he's better to start at center for that team than Biedrins.

Turiaf is perfect for Nellie's system but he's not really a center. Biedrins is pretty limited to the paint area both defensively and offensively.

Turiaf has more range and can stretch out defenses more than Biedrins can.

But Nellie is so unconventional he might alternate these two at the center position too.

No, Ronny is worth it. And he has gotten interest from multiple teams. Bonner is worthless and no one wants him because he sucks a bag of dicks. Ronny actually knows how to play defense and will get decent minutes in Goldenstate.

Would love to know said players that were passed over because of that money.

Everyone is severely overrating Turiaf's athleticism. The guy looks better than he is because he overhustles. And his shooting ability isn't great. Shawn Bradley could hit the 10-12 foot jumper too.

Turiaf will get about as much playing time as Danny Fortson did under Nellie. I'll bet anyone here that he'll be total shit playing Nellie Ball, if he gets any playing time at all.

Well, we offered Roger Mason Jr. 3 yrs/$3M last year because we were so near the tax, but were rebuffed. This year he cost us 2 yrs/$7.5M. Matt Bonner is costing us his salary, PLUS the difference in Mason's.
