Haha he's getting old and isin't intersted to play for them he did all the time but my opinion we should just let the youngsters play Chris Paul Lebron and more beacuse they are young and are stars! Rest The old guys haha:toast

FIBA's refs make Joey Crawford look like a saint....

he doesn't like the officiating and rightfully so..

they were very inconsistent with him last time and were letting the other teams abuse him without calls..

He was satisfied with bronze...

...and FIBA sucks.

He should have a rest in the vacation.
and choose to retire form the national team.

Duncan made it pretty clear in '04 that he was done. There's the famous:

FIBA sucks

And:

I am about 95 percent sure my FIBA career is over. I'll try not to share my experiences with anyone.

He is not on it because he does not want to be included...

thats not even true

hes not on it cause we got embarrassed last olympics with ppl like stephon marbury who dont play with heart... so they picked a young team so they can play together for a really long time... duncan is too old and didnt show enough interest so we didnt

plus we only have 3 big men on the team... we obviously arent looking for big men to be on the team

TD doesn't want to play FIBA ball. He was pretty emphatic about that in '04. He was totally beaten up during the Olympics and doesn't like the way they call games. I agree. FIBA rules are very different from the NBA's and their refs aren't as proficient. Regardless of how we fell about the NBA refs they are much worse.

Duncan spent most of the 04 games on the bench in foul trouble, yet got murdered down low with no fouls called. He was getting called for ticky-tack fouls on clean blocks because he has a habit of putting his off arm on the body of the shooter when he blocks shots. A clean block in the NBA was whistled as a foul on Duncan everytime under FIBA rules. He got sick of the double standard and decided not to volunteer for the games anymore.

.

He's about to bring the Gold back to the US. Something Duncan failed miserably at.

Kobe Bryant will be the main reason we bring back Gold in the '08 Olympics. And that is because his game transcends NBA/international rules, he can literally play anywhere at a high level as long as there is a ball and a hoop.

Unfortunately the same cannot be said of Duncan after his FIBA performance. His game just does not mesh well at all with FIBA rules and officiating.
