The Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors are rumored to be working on a deal, and while details are sketchy one possibility is that Kirk Hinrich lands in Oakland as the heir apparent to Baron Davis.
Kirk Hinrich isn't getting as much love as Corey Maggette, Elton Brand, and Josh Smith right now, but he is certainly at the top of the second tier of names being thrown around. The belief continues to be that the Bulls will be shopping Hinrich after landing Derrick Rose in the draft, though there is also talk that the Bulls could opt to keep Hinrich, play him next to Rose, and look to trade Ben Gordon instead.
The Miami Heat have been in the news a lot since drafting Michael Beasley because they are lacking a point guard to start alongside Dwyane Wade, and Hinrich has been linked to discussion with Miami. The Heat are also talking with Keyon Dooling, who might be the more likely (more affordable) candidate. Today's headlines include discussion of Hinrich winding up in Oakland, where he would replace Baron Davis as the team's floor leader. The Warriors have a number of options with their roster, from cap space to some attractive sign-and-trade alternatives, and could likely put together a deal that would meet with the Bulls' approval. Hinrich would most certainly be a nice addition to the Warriors' rotation.
