Indiana swingman Jackson suspended again

NEW YORK -- A little over a week after his return from a 30-game suspension, Indiana Pacers swingman Stephen Jackson will be on the sidelines again.

NBA senior vice president of basketball operations Stu Jackson announced Thursday that Jackson has been suspended one game without pay for verbal abuse of an official.

Jackson will serve his suspension during Friday's game against Dallas.

The incident occurred after Wednesday's 97-96 loss to the Toronto Raptors in which Jackson's sloppy defense cost the Pacers the win.

With 1.9 seconds left, the Raptors ran a play for Jalen Rose, who curled around the top of the key and leaned into Jackson, who could not move his feet quick enough and committed the foul.

Rose sank both free throws to lift Toronto to just its fourth road win in 24 games this season. Without any timeouts, Indiana had to attempt a long inbounds pass that was deflected away as time expired.

Jackson was curt and testy after the game. He berated the media for asking about the team's recent woes and the call at the end of the game.

"Why do you ask those dumb questions? Are you trying to get me fined? Don't you think we've been fined enough?" Jackson said. "No more questions about calls, and that goes for all of you."

Known for his fiery personality, Jackson was suspended for his role in the brawl at Detroit on November 19. Since his return on January 26, the Pacers are 0-5.

Jackson is a stupid ass bitch who deffinently did not belong in San Antonio.

Alvarez, Jax was a major part of the 2003 championship run. Dude has mad some bad decisions in the past year, I wouldn't call him trash. Maybe brainless, but not trash.

I wouldn't call Manu a hot dog.

Do hot dogs win gold medals as under dogs?

I'd call Jackson a trashy person but, not a trashy player.

the thing is, he would have never pulled stuff like this while under pop, pop would have knocked his head off. it shows you the Discipline between the two teams.

We would have won if we had Jackson last year. He was >>>> than Hedon't.

He made the right move financially speaking though, IF he can stay out of trouble from now on (not likely).

It's sad the mistakes Jax has made this year, but as a token of appreciation, perhaps Spurs' fans could come together and compose a 101 Ways to Cook Beans cookbook for Jax to better weather all the lost paychecks.

Pop was definately right calling him the "anti-spur".

I was never exactly sure how Jackson was the "anti-spur" until this year.

Jax has made some stupid decisions, but he's not trash. He showed here that he is a good person - what is crucial to the way Jax handles himself is the environment that surrounds him.

I think after winning it all in SA, the success mighta went to his head and he mighta thought he was better then he actually was. I liked him in SA, now hes a jerk.

Did you SEE the play at the end of the game that happend?

I would have gotten fined for verbally abusing an official too.

Stop knocking Jack guys. It's pretty pathetic.

Im gonna knock him.

Shouldve taken the small contract and been happier in SA Jack.

But, youve made the choice. Your getting your millions, and your out of control.

Remember what he said in the Game 6 Press conference.

"Coach Pop is the only coach who can controll me."

Obviously true. Its sad, a great talent. 50 million dollar game, 5 cent head.

Honestly a shame. Hes gonna run himself out of the league again if he keeps it up.

So much for the great Pooh's prediction.

I can imagine if he pulled this moronic act under pop...he would be riding the pine for an extended time. That is one thing I can say ..Pop would not care if he has a fat contract, Jackson would go a few weeks with little to no minutes and a few DNP-CD's.
I highly doubt he will face anything close to that once the "one game suspension" is over.
