I knew he was gonna do well, but shit ... who coulda predicted this. And hardly a cheap shot, most of those were bombs.

Counsil should be on a pitch count.

most amazing thing I have ever seen

I have been a Hamilton fan since the Reds picked him up in the Rule 5 draft.

God has blessed Josh Hamilton

It's called being tired, and if you think anybody's going to look down on Hamilton after the Finals, you're sorely mistaken.

Seriously, they said he hit over 3 miles worth of homeruns tonight...he had to have been completely gassed by the end of the derby.

Hamilton should have punched Morneau in the nose and swiped the trophy. I don't think anyone would have cared. That would have made his night even better. If I was Josh Hamilton, that's what I would have done.

This pretty much sums it up.

The funniest part is that Longoria tells Morneau that Josh already won it, to the guy who eventually won. He may have officially won that trophy, but Hamilton (not to mention the fans) are the real winners here.

Yeah when he kept hitting the bombs I was thinking bitch needs to slow down or he wont have any left for the finals, which is what ended up happening. I was pulling for Berkman, but I wanted Hamilton to win if Puma didnt.

Props to the man, Justin Morneau! :toast

He hit them when they mattered!

A friend and I were discussing the participants of the Derby last night and it was great that all of them are fairly new to the average fan (sans former MVP Morneau, Berkman and Sizemore) and even then, you could argue all eight aren't highly marketed [I remember one national campaign with Morneau (New Era)].

Great players all-around to showcase. Can't really dislike any of the people in the Derby.

If the Home Run Derby weren't simply an exhibition whose results matter for nothing, I would suggest the methodology be changed so that scoring is cumulative.

They need to do something to shorten it. It's waaaay too long.

Nobody cares who wins. Its all about flash and style. All about the show. And it was the Great Hambino show.

Surprised there weren't any latino players in the derby.

If you can't find something inspiring by watching a man launch balls a 10th of a mile with a tiny piece of wood, I don't understand how you would purport yourself to be a sports fan. Even people who don't like sports would have been blown away by what happened last night.

son MLB was hell bent on letting a whitey win this year. Joe Sharpton Morgan is not happy about it.
