Man finds knife in Subway sandwich, sues
Claims 7-inch blade in foot-long; company investigating, won’t comment
updated 7:23 p.m. CT, Wed., July. 16, 2008

NEW YORK - A New York man claimed in a lawsuit filed on Wednesday that he found a knife with a 7-inch blade baked into the bread of his foot-long "Cold Cut Trio" Subway sandwich.

John Agnesini, 26, a magazine designer, said he had already taken a few bites from the sandwich in late June when he spotted the knife jutting out from the bread's crust. The lawsuit, filed in Manhattan state court, seeks $1 million.

"If I didn't look at it, I don't know what would have happened," said Agnesini. "That's the last thing you think about a sandwich you eat all the time."

A colleague telephoned the chain to complain, but Subway never apologized, he said.

Subway spokesman Kevin Kane said in a statement the company was investigating.

Maybe the blade was aligned along the diagonal?

Foot long cold cut trio is $5; throw in a restaurant grade knife and that's not a bad deal.

It would have had to be pretty much perfectly diagonal (corner to corner) on one half of the sandwich, not overlapping the middle.

Even Bugs Meany could pull off a less obvious scam.

Seeks $1M for seeing a knife? Dude didn't cut himself. People are frickin' sue happy. He didn't get hurt, he saw a knife and is suing for what could've happened. I should sue OLLU, because I could've been in the building during that fire.

They cut the foot longs in half. Half of a foot is six inches.

You can request for it no to be cut in half.

And not to mention just cuz the sandwich is cut in half doesn't mean the retard making the sandwich made it a perfect 6/6 cut. It could have been 7/5.

And I'm sure the Subway worker wouldn't notice a couple of ounces of bread that all of a sudden weighed about 3 times as much as normal, either...

So he had taken the 2x6-inch sandwich off site, not eating in Subway premises, is why his colleague telephoned back to Subway?

Good luck proving the knife wasn't inserted after he left the premises.

Absolutely. I used to be addicted to those books when I was younger.

Wilford Wiggins was the man. :lol

Not like that other child detective series, where you'd solve the mystery based on looking at a drawing, and the solution pages had to be held up to a mirror so you could read them. Anybody recall what series this was?
