Why not bring in a new fresh blood to lead the team? I think it benefits guys like George Hill and Mason.

Pop is easily one of the Top 3 coaches in the league right now.

And, as stated, his bond with guys like Duncan, Parker, AND Ginobili is invaluable to this team.

Name one coach that would be better suited to lead this team.

Avery Johnson.. he was not the reason the Mavericks did not get over the hump he also did not force Howard to smoke weed. he will be great here and Duncan will get his respect.

Are you sure? Since Avery helped Tim get a title in 99, here is a question, why is it that Avery soon left a few seasons later a bit disgruntled?

It's their first time with him as their coach, it's not like they need a NEW coach to replace their NEW coach.

what a pathetic thread.

George Hill should be the head coach.

As much as I think a rookie coach would be highly "progressive," I'd be leaning more toward a Spurs' vet like Lloyd Daniels. He'd be awesome as a Spurs coach.

No way Pop should be let go.
Reassigned/demoted instead to defensive coach with full reigns. Like what Tex Winters is to Phil Jackson on offense.

It's not gonna happen, Pop continues to ride Duncans coatails until the wheels fall off.
Only interesting part will be if Duncan has Kareemlike longevity.

Sadly, this is pretty much par for the course from the OP, who also gave us a "fire Pop" thread, one about trading Duncan, and one about trading Manu (and four threads that are now locked). I don't usually call for bans, but his garbage to post ratio makes me wonder why he is still here.
