Kidd, meanwhile, is still rounding into shape after offseason knee surgery. He hasn't been as forceful on defense, and while his game has never been about numbers, his output this season (12.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 7.1 assists) reflects a slight dropoff. Meanwhile his free-throw shooting has dipped to 69.4 percent. He just hasn't been sharp enough on a nightly basis to unseat Francis and Arenas, both of whom have posted bigger numbers while turning around their respective franchises.
