Elite XC middleweight champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler (15-4) vs Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith (13-4)--Cant wait for part two!
170 lbs.: Jake Shields (20-4-1) vs Nick “The Goat” Thompson (36-9-1) for vacant Elite XC welterweight championship
160 lbs.: Nick Diaz (17-7) vs Thomas “Wildman” Denny (26-16)-Wonder what he can pull off for us
140 lbs.: Shayna Baszler (9-4) vs Cristiane “Cris” Cyborg (4-0)
265 lbs.: Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva (10-1) vs Justin Eilers (19-6-1) for vacant Elite XC heavyweight championship-Man i wish this was on CBS...Now I hace to pay 3 dollars to watch this
140 lbs.: Wilson Reis (4-0) vs Brian Caraway (9-2)
205 lbs.: Rafael Feijao (6-1) vs Travais Galbraith
Without question this is the best EliteXC card they have ever done. If only they had put this card together for the first televised CBS card and simply had Kimbo before the title fights they could have strengthened his "up and coming status" instead of turning him into a premier "can crusher."
But that’s what happens when a boxing promoter sinks his fangs into something good.
Anyway…cannot wait.

I understand what you mean with the fake girl, but even Gina is an example of a pretty girl. She isn't the hottest in the world, but she isn't any of the things you described. Still doesn't change the fact that those are two ugly women.

I didnt know what it was at first. It looked goofy. That other announcer...Mauro or something. I hated him. He always came up with something dumb to say, like that fight lasted longer then Brett Favre's retirement. Anyone would know he was retired for like a month and a half. That fight did not last a month and a half.
His name is Mauro Ranallo and he is awful to listen to. Just horrible. Its just a constant stream of boring generic hyperbole's in that fake radio announcer voice.
But Frank gets better every fight.
about as bad as it gets
That airing back on May 31, 2008 scored 4.3 million viewers and a 1.9/6 among 18-49 year olds and since the Kimbo Slice bout for that airing aired past primetime (11p) the most viewed portion wasn’t included. But lacking any Kimbo anticipation, last night’s fights pulled a mere 2.62 million and a 1.0/3 from 9pm-11pm.

I do too. If this had been the first, then the second would have more viewers and this promotion would be better. This was a lousy show ratings wise, and really screwed up with that first show. It almost seamed like a joke with the dancing girls and music....they tried to go over the top, and blew so bad.
updated...1.9 not 1.0...still pretty low
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is reporting the show got a 1.9 rating on the overnight. When all markets finish reporting in the numbers should bump up a tenth or two for either a 2.0 or a 2.1. This would fall into the low 2 range that MMAPayout.com felt would be a decent number for the show, per our show preview.

haha that kinda looks like Stevenson when he he was spraying during the Penn rear naked choke.
And CBS now shits a brick and regrets not caving into the UFC's demands...
SPIKE TV’S RE-BROADCAST OF UFC 84 DRAWS MORE YOUNG MEN THAN A LIVE PRO ELITEXC CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT ON CBS
Need proof the UFC is the preeminent mixed martial arts brand in the world? On Saturday, July 26, more men 18-34 watched a repeat…a repeat…of a UFC event on Spike TV than a LIVE telecast of a Pro EliteXC championship card on CBS. Despite being available in over 17 million more homes, Spike TV drew 27% more Men 18-34 for a re-broadcast of “UFC 84: Penn vs. Sherk” from (9:00-12:00am ET/PT) than CBS’s live show (9:00-11:00pm). Spike TV’s telecast tallied 433,000 Men 18-34 to CBS’s 341,000.
Overall, “UFC 84: Penn vs. Sherk” drew higher ratings than Pro EliteXC in Men 18-49 (1.5 to 1.3) and Men 18-34 (1.5 and 1.0).
Reminiscent of the XFL’s rating collapse years ago, the CBS telecast was 69% lower in Men 18-34 and 57% lower with Men 18-49 than its initial broadcast on CBS in May featuring the “He Hate Me” of MMA, Kimbo Slice.
Compared to last week’s live Spike TV UFC telecast featuring arguably the best pound for pound fighter in the world, Anderson Silva, the UFC outdrew CBS by 165% with Men 18-34, 82% with Men 18-49, and 21% with total viewers.
and now..........
ProElite, Inc., the parent company of Elite Xtreme Combat, declared via a filing with the Securities Exchange Committee that both Chairman and Chief Strategy Officer Doug DeLuca and EliteXC Live Events President Gary Shaw have resigned from the company.

The California native would love to face the winner, but he understands that fight will not happen. . .at least for now."

Yeah if anything they are just proving that UFC is the big dog in the yard. As a MMA fan I do like having options. The crazy thing is that the UFC I first started watching 3 years ago is totally different. I think only Chuck is there from that era. Funny how fast these fighters either move on or quit/retire.
On a side note I just found out my cousin is training to be a MMA fighter. He is part of a Gracie camp in Chicago. Would be something if he makes it on lets say the Ultimate Fighter.

But I think it means unless something big happens and they get flushed with some investors sorta soon the UFC picks through the ashes sometime in early 09 and we see Kimbo Vs TBA in February on PPV in the octagon.

Man can you imagine if it did!! Affliction would have a primetime deal with CBS and showtime as well and they would be just as big as UFC overnight with their talent alone. The only title AFF has is the hw so have Fedor destroy bigfoot in their main even fight. I dont know about you guys but I really like Elite XC because of the female mma fights. They haven't disappointed yet.
Two companies merging is a mutually beneficial action, and in this case the UFC gains nothing from that. Their in the dominate pisition and they can dictate how they absorb the company/contracts…..Should it come to that.
This past Saturday's "EliteXC: Unfinished Business" event in Stockton, Calif. -- the second EliteXC event to air on network TV via CBS -- had a large and energetic crowd of spectators.
But few of them -- less than 33 percent in all -- paid to be there at the Stockton Arena.
Of the 8,541 tickets the organization printed for the event, just 2,871 were sold. A total of 3,701 were given away, and 2,023 "deadwood" tickets went unused, according to paperwork the California State Athletic Commission today sent to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com).
This past Saturday's event drew a live gate of just $268,715. A total of $340,960 in tickets were comp'd, and $206,155 worth of tickets went unsold.
Needless to say, the numbers are hugely disappointing.
"Unfinished Business" also turned out to be a ratings bust; after peaking with more than 6.5 million viewers for its network-TV debut in May, this past Saturday's ratings slipped by more than 40 percent. A simultaneous Spike TV replay of UFC 84 -- an event two months' old -- actually drew more viewers (433,000 to 341,000) in the covered "males 18-34" demographic, though EliteXC scored a slightly higher overall rating.
Despite the live gate and ratings disappointments, the event was lauded for improved production values and better pacing. The night's CBS card (and preceding Showtime card) featured solid match-ups and good fights, though without superstars Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson and Gina Carano competing -- and with less advertising on CBS airwaves -- the show failed to generate the type of buzz that accompanied May's CBS debut.
EliteXC returns to CBS airwaves on Oct. 4 live from the 20,000-seat BankAtlantic Center near Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

There were some good fights on the card. And if you are a real MMA fan, then you probably enjoy this card. But for the casual fans, it really lacked the big names to get more viewers attention.
