To hear some talk about it, this is probably the only meaningful move the Spurs have made in the last decade or so.

Any time a press conference gets called I always flash back to the day they announced Elliott's jersey retirement and how we were all in here shitting our pants because we thought it was an announcement about signing the Mailman. Got damn CIA.

Link works...

Doesn't sound like anything more then just announcing KT resigning.

Actually, after listening to it more, he turned away and gave a no comment type response regarding Finley or other FAs out there.

Not sure why they keep asking about Robert Horry though...

Has the live feed worked properly this off-season? It seems like it did not work, as advertised by spursdotcom, for the Roger Mason signing also...or am I misremembering?

RC had a couple of funny answers. When naming off the people who make the foundation of the franchise, he said "Tony, Pop, Tim, Fin and Bruce". Funny order, funny inclusion of Fin and funny omission.

Then I think they asked him what other veteran free agents do the Spurs have of their own that they can re-sign and RC said "Ummmmmmmmm ... honestly, I don't know".

Supergirl

Well RC says "we'll have him here for the next couple years" -- so it's gotta be at least a 2 year deal. Not bad. He also suggests that KT plans to finish his career in SA...

Did Manu insult your family or something?

--- Manu has given his all for the team that pays him; that doesn't mean he has to sacrifice everything else.
--- He doesn't deserve derision from those who don't understand his sense of patriotism.
--- Manu took less money to play for the Spurs. His contract is probably the most lopsided contract in the NBA today, in terms of value per dollar. You couldn't get equal return in any trade unless the Cavs were willing to part ways with No. 23. Isn't that admirable enough?
--- Manu played on a bum foot, because he is one hell of a competitor. How's that for those who question his loyalty or his will to win?
--- His injury simply came at the worst possible time. Bad luck, move on.
--- He carried the team on his back for most of the season and was arguably their MVP last season.
--- His efficiency, which is a roundabout indicator of whether or not one can handle the grind of the NBA season, was top 10.
--- Manu had the best regular season, statistically speaking, of his career - the year he was supposed to have fallen off a cliff.
--- Manu's clutchness on both ends of the floor is irreplaceable.

Thank You!!!

I agree with everything you wrote.

It's amazing how some spoiled Spurs fans are wanting Manu to be traded.

He is one of the core three players of this Spurs team and is very much a part of the Golden Age of the franchise.

He isn't going anywhere!!!
