If memory serves, this guy has a history of crackpottery. Like claiming he was cured of cancer by long distance psychic healing or some such nonsense.

Yeah he's a nut. Too bad though because we need someone with some cred to step up and help this disclosure along.

Yeah he's a nut.

Maybe that's just what they want you to think.

Its impossible to doubt there is other life out there. There is just no way we are the only planet with lifeforms with the gajillions of planets there are in the universe.

Now, intelligent life... thats a whole different debate.

Actually, the term universe is often misused. Universe is just a section of the COSMOS. For example, the universe we live is called the Milky Way. :) Just a clarification.

Actually, the Milky Way is the Galaxy that we live in, Einstein. Universe was used correctly.

Yes, in common terms, you are right. Just like the word "theory" used in everyday language. When most people say "it's just a theory," they mean that it's false and unproven. However, when a scientist says the same thing, he or she means that a hypothesis is repeatedly correct. If a theory gains universal acceptance and is assumed to be absolutely correct, then it becomes a law.

Well, I change my mind. A better analogy would be the IUPAC and common nomenclature in chemistry. In the past when there was only a few organic compounds discovered, scientist just randomly name theme. However, as more and more compounds are synthesized or discovered, a better system needed to be used--IUPAC. For example, the IUPAC name ethene is called acetylene in common nomenclature.

Similarly with Cosmos and Universe, one is a order common term, while the universe is used more often today.
