The Spurs inside-outside game needs some diversification. You've got TD scoring down low then a bunch of 3-point shooters. TP does drive to the rim once in a while and so does Manu even more rarely nowadays. Yeah, I know he was injured w/c was one factor the coaching staff had when they asked him to develop his mid-range game a couple of years back.
Anyway, w/c of the new Spurs candidates seem to possess the tools, in particular a mid-range jumpshot?

I was thinking more along the lines of someone whou could create his own jumpshot. KT is basically a spot-up shooter safety valve for when the defense clogs up Duncan. Don't know about Gist though.
The NBA used to be loaded with mid-range jumpshooters unfortunately they don't make for flashy highlight videos.. but they can be so effective.

Roger Mason?
His reputation is as a 3-point shooter or at least that's what the reorts seem to focus on. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he can be effective at shorter distances, specially if its correct that he's not much of a slasher. Good ball handling, ability to use screensm quick release jumpshot.. that's what I'm looking for.. maybe Mason or even Hill will fit the bill.

Yeah, what was I thinking. The Spurs are so obviously dominant in all areas of the game.. absolutely no weaknesses.

Bingo.

If he can keep up those percentages, he'll be the best mid-range shooter on the team.

That's weird that he's really good from midrange on the wings and corners and on fire from the top of the key three pointers but sucks at long two point jumpers at the top of the key.

Yo timvp, can you put one up of Manu, just to compare? And also one of TD in the playoffs, I want to see the 1.000 from the top right of the arc.:king
EDIT: I found, but how do I paste if I can't copy the damn thing?

ya!
I can't figure out how to post the image (I have a mac, and am still getting used to certain things), but the one for KT isn't all that bad. Extrapolate his shot attempt numbers to what you might expect over the course of a season, and he at least appears to be a fairly decent mid-range shooter, albeit one that cannot create his own shot.
For some easy fun (and off-topic in the thread) look at some of the guards and see if you can guess who is right or left handed.

The mid range shot is almost a lost art because of the 3pt shot, especially from over 15 feet out. The teams fave figured out it is better to shoot the 3 with a somewhat lower percentage than to shoot the 2.
Example:
100 shots x 45% x 2pts=90 points
100 shots x 35% x 3pts=105 points
