No Spurs will make it. We usually have one of the top 3 long distance shooters, and they never get invited.

Hopefully Josh Smith is healthy enough for the dunk contest. Any shooting guard who blocks ten shots in a game should get an automatic invite.

JR Smith is also injured but he'd be nice in it. Earl Boykins would be fun to watch. Damien Wilkens is a good dunker. Hmmmm ... I'll have to think of this more.

Yeah I wanted Josh Smith too, but he just went to IR. Hopefully he gets healthy quick. He already said he was going to be in it.

they invited Steve Smith once in the 3pt-shootout but he didn't survive in the first round.

After a quick search, Amare has already confirmed he'll be in the slam dunk contest. He looks stronger this year and could tear up that competition.

I still want Brent Barry to compete so he can be the only player to win a 3-pt contest AND a dunk contest. :smokin

Chances = slim. Not because he can't shoot. Just because he likely won't be there.

If he got the invite and was having a hot day, he could give Peja a run for his money.

I think Manu could enter and win, problem is he'd need to get a couple of Lakers down under the basket trying to stop him.

Lebron vs. Amare would be fun. The biggest thing is the league needs to change its stupid ass rules to give the guys more freedom to go all out.

Dunk Contest: Earl Boykins

3PT Contest: Shaq

:smokin

I'd pay money to watch em, and I've always wanted to see Shaq's 3 point stroke.

Rasho on the dunk contest. And put Stephen Jackson in there too just because I want to test a theory that he could get himself suspended even if he was the only one on the court.

I read an article about amare stoudamire accepting a bid to the dunk contest, i wanna see vince in it this year, Jrich is always fun to watch

and in the 3 point shootout... i heard awhile back that Voshaun leonard wanted to defend his title even tho he's injured for the season.... im sure if he's able to participate he'll be there since its in denver

I was going to mention hoiberg. Before his 0-5 stint a few days ago he was on pace to break the 3pt record. Kerr and Hodges are one and two and they have the astericked close range 3pt line when they did it. As it is he's still shooting 50% from beyond the arc.

Too bad he's a PF/C.

Uh, so is Amare. Back in the day, Larry Nance WON the dunk contest, and he was a PF.

The only way the dunk contest becomes exciting again is if they raise the stakes and rescind the veterans restrictions. Imagine a 1 million dollar prize. Let addias or nike plaster their name all over it in exchange for putting up the money. Then you would see a great contest - players would be motivated to really come up with some new, innovative, amazing dunks in an effeort to win the ca$h.

Vince Carter
Steve Francis
McGrady
Bryant
maybe mix in the two Smith rookies
James
Stoudamire
etc.

I'd pay to see it.

If I could pick:

3-Point: Kyle Korver, Damon Jones, Hoiberg, Ray Allen, Peja, Dirk, Joe Johnson

Whatever, A dunk by a guy who is 7 foot doesn't look as athletic as a guy who's 6'6" putting it through his legs, or even Fred Jones who is 6'2"

Why not Beno for 3 contest? He is there for rookie ball anyway and % wise near the top even after a short bad spell recently??
