Can't read spanish at all. I do know how to run a search. The only place Marc Gasol or Javotkas's names appear is in the scoring summary at the end. If you can find a proper box score (ie rebounds, blocks, TO's, Fouls drawn and committe, MPG), it would be nice...

If Jav owns, maybe Pop'll think about bringing him in. Not sure how another big could get into the rotation, since Kurt, Matt, Tim, and Fab are givens, with Ian or Tolliver sure to make it as well.

OURENSE (Olimpiadas).- Lithuania took revenge of their loss against Spain by dominating Argentina 94-75 in their friendly game played in Ourense.

The Argentineans had problems stopping the Lithuania attack as the Europeans started with a 12-0 run.

The rotations placed by Sergio Hernandez didn't work and only Luis Scola carried Argentina who lost the first quarter 33-14.

At halftime Lithuania had a 56-26 lead as Argentina was carried only by Scola who netted 8 points at halftime.

Their biggest difference was 61-28 and Lithuania started testing new rotations and plays. Argentina took advantage of that to cut the lead at the end.

94 - Lithuania (33+23+17+21): Jaikevicius (9), Kaukenas (14), Jasaitis (15), Lvrinovic (15), Javtokas (5) -starters-, Delimninkaitis (-), Marciulis (9), Dariusz (2), Petravicius (7), Prekevicius (14) and Lukauskis (2).

75 - Argentina (14+12+21+28): Prigioni (10), Ginobili (10), Nocioni (5), Oberto (2), Scola (12) -starters-, Porta (-), González (7), Delfino (16), Quinteros (13), Juan Pedro Gutiérrez (-) and Kammerichs (-).

Spain and Argentina will play tomorrow to end the tournament in Ourense. Spain won the first game against Lithuania 91-66.

That's some rock paper scissors shit right there. Except Argentina can't beat other. How'd they stick with Spain then get torched by Lith, who were torched by Spain?

And I swear someone said Oberto was dominating the paint, I guess they just meant defense...

timvp
07-26-2008, 04:02 AM
I was leaning toward rooting for Argentina but after their recent struggles, it might be best if Argentina gets blown out of the water and Ginobili is spared any added mileage. If this Argentina team is going to win gold, Ginobili would have to play at an even higher level than he did in 2004.

, Ginobili would have to play at an even higher level than he did in 2004.

It was actually Ginobili's 2nd Game in about 60 days coming back from a painfull injury(as we all know).I believe Manu aint risking his body right now and wont do it until the Olympics start. We'll see how this team looks like with a 100% Manu.
This is my analizys:If manu not being 100% costed the spurs the playoffs elimination,Imagine what's doing to the Arg NT.a healthy Manu means success for the Arg NT and and the spurs as well, and maybe that's why He's taking it easy and he's not risking his body.

I haven't given up on them yet... there are 3 key players on that gold run no longer with them... Herrmann, Pepe Sanchez and almost Spur Alejandro Montecchia... Manu will always bring something to the table but remember Nocioni had his worst tournament with the team in 2004.. if he turns it up a notch they'll be right there again... my hopes are a bronze medal... we shall see... in 2004 timvp.. they were playing VERY bad before the Olympic tournament begun... and just like the Spurs... i would NEVER bet against them...

ROFL, ducks and mookie on the same (short) bus.

Awful game against Spain. Yeah, the refs sucked, but you have to be prepared for that when you are playing against Spain, in Spaniard soil with Spanish referees. Really stupid all these whinning, not needed at all. Players need to stop complainning about the refs and think about other stuff. I'm worried about 3 things:

- Ball movement. This is the 7th game that the team has played together since the Olympics preparations started. Yeah, I know it's the first one with the full roster, but the ball movement and decision making need to improve a lot. Too many stupid turnovers, specially from the backcourt (Delfino finished the game with something like 7 turnovers). Argentina didn't score a single FG in the entire fourth quarter, all the points came from free throws.

- Back-up point. Porta is obviously struggling. He got owned big time by a 17-year old kid, who might be a great player in the future, but he lacks experience. If Porta isn't healthy, he should be sent home and call someone else who can dribble past halfcourt without falling over.

- Defense. Too many easy baskets, missed assigments and rotations, no box-outs. The only moments when Argentina played solid defense, they cut the lead to two points. When they started messing around again, Spain went off and had a 16-2 run. Also, the refs were whistle-happy, but there were some reach-in defensive fouls that could have been avoided.

:lmao You're comparing someone who said "I like the way that Argentina plays, but they are struggling now and that would mean a great burden on Manu to carry them if they're going to be sucessful" to your own kind of personal trolling?

ROFL, you keep beating your own records. Trainning hard for those Olympics, I guess...? September 6th, right?
