Rebound - The Earl Manigault Story.
Don Cheadle FTW.
BTW, what was so bad about Blue Chips? Yeah, Shaq and Penny can't act. Big surprise, but I thought the movie was decent.

Hoosiers....easily
Hollywood did a number on the "true" event movie. The main player on the team said 95% of the movie was made up. I know its just a movie but that ruined it for me.
They made the final 4 the year before they won which they did not point out in the movie.. They did not even play the team they played in the movie. They added the drunk dad. Jimmy was not Jimmy, his real name was Bobby and he did not sit out any games. The coach was 26, not 60. The coach did not replace a dead coach. The coach was married so no hanky panky between Hackmans character and the teacher. The scene where Ollie hits two free throws never happened. The team won every game in tourney by double digits except the finals so all those last second shots never happened. They won the title in 1952 not 1954.
There are more but I forget. The hell with Hoosiers.

well how do u feel about friday night lights? that movie was just as jaded when it comes to facts....Permian did play Carter, but not in the State Championship....that cant happen. Region 1 always plays Region 2 in the state semifinals. That game was really the semifinals.....cause that year Dallas Carter went on to play Converse Judson in the State Championship game in Texas Stadium. Carter won that game 31-17, but eventually had to forfeit the title due to UIL violations. So Converse Judson was awarded the State Championship in 1988.....which btw if you go to Rutledge Stadium in Converse, it is the only one of their titles that has an asterisk next to it.
I knew of this inaccuracy because I am a graduate of Converse Judson and I have followed the football program for over 2 decades. Now just cause the movie wasn't accurate with it's facts.....and just cause it didn't actually follow the theme of the book (socioeconomic and racial tension in Odessa).....the movie was still very good.
I will say this.....I am disappointed with the lack of quality basketball movies, when compared to those of football and baseball.

I have never seen the Hank Gathers movie, nor have I seen the movie about the Goat.....
Basketball Diaries wasnt even really about basketball
Finding Forrester was pretty good, but it was more about being a writer to me.
Love & Basketball was too chick flicky for my taste.
No movie makes me want to go out and shoot hoops like White Man can't jump.

I am also a Judson grad. and often wondered why we never even made it in the movie. What year did you graduate?? I was C/O 95.
