Nice cut auto.

What's the nature of your collection and how does a Naismith auto complete it?

Nice cut auto.

What's the nature of your collection and how does a Naismith auto complete it?

Years ago I started with a list of NBA players I loved to watch play and from there on it developed into a list of 260 NBA players/coaches whose autograph I would like to have in my collection.

With Dr. Naismith's addition, those 260 players' autographs are now all in my collection. Do you think of a player/coach who is missing on the list, but realy shouldn't be missing from my collection? Let me know who and why:

It's an interesting set, to be sure. I wouldn't begin to tell you that you need to add anyone else to the list.

I decided a few years ago to try to build a master set of the Topps Pristine basketball uncirculated cards from 2005-06. IIRC, there are 130 base cards, each numbered to 325; another group of relic cards, each numbered to 100; a group of 20 autographed cards, each numbered to 20; and a group of 5 autographed relic cards, each numbered to 10. At this point, I'm 4 cards short -- I'm missing 4 of the autographed cards (Andrew Bogut, Andrew Bynum, and Gerald Green) and 1 of the autographed relic cards (Jay-Z). If I can find them all, I'll have a really unique set; I'm hoping to find them at some point.

Nice card and nice collection, alamo50. That looks like it took a bit of effort (and $$$) to put together.

What about Geert Hammink? Played for the Spurs summer league team back in the day. Good career at LSU. Couple games in the NBA. From Holland. :smokin

Too bad that about 80 percent of all autographs on the market are counterfeited/forged, unless you got all of those in person, im afraid your collection isn't really worth much. Photo documentation is a must with todays autographed market.

Awesome card dude. Wow. I'm just in awe to be honest with you.

However you must collect favorites cause some of your auto's are pee yew.

I hope that card is PSA or BGS graded, or you get is certified if it is not already.

Why no Kobe?
Does it need an explanation why he isnīt in my personal collection?!?!
Iīm a Spurs fan and I hate his freakinī guts!

I donīt have a lot of pics of these autographics, but I do have lots of pics of my 150 different D-Rob autographs.

Thatīs an awesome collection FWDT.
I do hope you find the other 4 to complete it!
Thatīs just the feeling of the hobby. Searching and searching and when you find it: AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Hahahaha, only you could have discovered about Hammink L.J.!
Yes, he has been on my list forever (and now is the only one left), but that one Classic Four autographic of him just never is for sale on eBay because of itīs $0,000001 value! I didnīt wanna mention him because most peeps wouldnīt know about Shaqīs back-up @ both L.S.U. and the Magic.

I donīt like the graded cards because I canīt put them together in my binder together with all the other ones. I like to just take time and turn the pages in my binder and recall memories of all the great players I have a special memory of in the NBA.
This Naismith autographic should be a exception because itīs a museum piece, but HECK NO I am not going to send this out by mail to the US to get it graded!

No, I will not let any of my cards go........ever.
90% of my D-Rob autographics are on authentic collector cards from eBay.
The other 10% are on jerseys, shoes, bball and paper.

About 5% of these last ones, I got from Tony Parker, Sr., Carver Academy and David himself (invitation to his retirement gala). Although I am blessed to have met D-Rob 4 times, I never asked for an autograph in person.

I didn't even know a Naismith auto card existed. Where exactly did the autograph come from? I started collecting again last year and have been pretty steady with it but I only get into graded cards. I'm currently concentrating on 3 basketball sets

88 Fleer PSA 9 or better. Fun set and not too many cards.

74 Topps PSA 8 or better. Considered to be Gervins rookie year.

69 Topps PSA 7 or better. Big white cards are fucking awesome and there are only 100 cards in the set. I picked the set because there are a ton of high end rookies that will never depreciate.

otherwise I only collect BGS 9, 9.5 and 10's or PSA 10's with an occasional 9 if its someone I really want. Seems like the market never slows on the 9.5's or better. I've seen a mild dropoff in value on the 9's but I'm trying to concentrate more on the 10's.

If you get into older card sets this place is worth it.

http://www.vintagecardprices.com/index.php

it will allow you to track the older cards that you are looking for via the auctions so you don't have to search for it. It also tracks what that card has brought in previous auctions so you can evaluate the real market value.

The autograph comes from his family and was cutt out from a check.

Willie Anderson, altough it's very good suggestion, he never did it for me.
