Damnit, Manny, get with the program. It's obvious to anyone with a brain that Ricky Davis and Kwame Brown have been crucial contributors to championship caliber teams. I mean, haven't you noticed how the just tend to stick around with teams and how those teams are always really, really good when those players are there? Really -- you saw what happened to the Lakers last year when they lost Kwame Brown, right?

And, obviously, the fact that Ricky Davis has logged 11 playoff games in his 8 NBA seasons is testament to the rush that all of the contenders had to get that guy under contract; the fact that he's played for 6 teams (including one team twice) is just proof of how in demand his services are.

Pull it out, Manny. Really.

Yeah, and your point?

bavarianworks
07-28-2008, 08:27 PM
My point is that we could use a scorer and another big, remember? Were you not watching the lakers series? Who cares about his attitude, we need more scorers. Plus, duncan/pop will put him in his place.

If Brown plays with the same lack of desire/intensity he's shown throughout his entire young NBA career you can bet your bottom dollar Sheed's gonna' punk'em.

Same here. He might have abused his peers in high school, but the level of competition in the NBA seemed to simply take whatever wind he had out of his sails in terms of being a successful basketball player. Once you reach the next plateau height will only take you so far if you yourself don't really want it.

Yes, Darryl Hall and John Oates - he's stealing lines from their (or there) songs.

Gotta' love Hall and Oates. Maybe Kwame could learn to play harder "One On One" in the post :)....or maybe not, but it fit the off topic tangent anyway.

Davis' 16 points don't look as impressive when he jacked up 20 shots to get them.

actually, his career high is only 18.6 FGA per game (the season he had his highest PPG total at 20.6). over the last 7 years, hes only averaged 13.5 FGA per game (with a PPG total of 16.1 during that span), while averaging 4 assists per game.

yes, ricky can be selfish on the offensive end, but lets not go and turn him into a black hole. hes simply a ball-dominant player (who happens to a little stupid too).

i agree with half your statement...fin over davis, but noway i bring back horry over brown.....no matter what is said about brown, he plays his position, horry wants to shoot 3's and thats all....and find another team to ride the bench and win a title(almost forgot what he really has done)

Kwame would have been a nice pick up. We would not have relied on him to win us a chip, but he would have been a very solid defensive big to pick up.
