The Charlotte Bobcats and restricted free agent Emeka Okafor have agreed in principle on a six-year contract worth at least $72 million.

General manager Rod Higgins confirmed the agreement Tuesday to local reporters, saying that he expects the contract to be completed "in the next few days" after an ESPN.com report said the sides had made significant progress in the past week and were on the verge of a deal.

Charlotte overpaid.

There's no way any team out there could offer him that kind of deal.

They could have signed him to a cheaper deal.

The Al Jefferson deal that Minnesota gave him looks better all the time.

al jeff said that he wasnt worth the money they previous offered him and took less money.

okafor is obviously out for the money and i doubt he improves from here on out.
