I am from Indiana so I know this dude completely sucks. Carlisle is going to slow your offense down so it is sickening to watch. It'll be slow as molasses with spot up shooters in the corners. Carlise was fired by the Pistons and the Pacers for the same BS.

Larry Bird wanted a faster pace and uptempo and Carlisle ignored him.
Carlisle is going to run your franchise into the ground so fast it'll make your head spin. First your team's scoring will go down but the teams defensive intensity will go up. Dirks scoring will drop in to career lows. The team will be playing slam the ball into Josh Howard or nothing or kick out to perimeter players. Other teams will figure this out and just nullify Howard and your perimeter players.

I know that Carlisle is a good coach and all,( yeah right :lmao ) albeit one who the Pistons had to fire to get over the hump. But Walsh/Bird is one of the most astute front offices of this era; why wouldn't they trust themselves enough to dictate the direction of the team? If they've gone to the trouble to follow a plan, and know they can pull it off, you'd think they'd make sure they saw eye-to-eye with the coach. Give Carlisle to a wishy-washy GM, but it's a tremendous waste of energy and basketball effort to keep this stand-off going any longer.

Back to the original thread. I think Artest will be best coming off the bench. Battier works well with McGrady and Yao on offense since he can camp behind the three and make people pay. Artest can then come into the game for Battier, or take over the offensive load when McGrady, or Yao needs a break and then they can avoid those long droughts they have been prone to over the last few (10) years. Barry will also help in this regard. Basically, if the Rockets got *any* efficient shooting from a third option they have won pretty handily. Replacing Luther Head and Bobby Jackson with Ron Artest and Brent Barry is fantastic.

It will be interesting to see what combinations Adelman can through out there. The Rockets were pretty successful in using a quick lineup against the Jazz in the playoffs. Having Artest and Dorsey could make for some interesting matchup problems for other teams. I think they have enough depth and talent on the roster to be less vulnerable to small ball lineups like Golden State and Phoenix have been using against them in recent years.

Luis Scola as a rookie in the NBA averaged 14 and 9 against Boozer in the playoffs (so it's not just small forwards that he can do this to) and already has a gold medal, this game isn't even the highlight of his career.

Hell this isn't even his best game in this years Olympics...he shit all over Kirilenko for 37 points and made him look like a D league player.

Scola can flat out ball.......he's a machine.

It's not complicated. Scola cost the Rockets nothing to acquire, makes like $3million a year and is a nice, scrappy player. He's no all-star, but he's a solid starter for a good team. Why wouldn't Rockets fans be happy with him? I bet the Mavs would rather have someone like him at his salary and production then Eric Dampier pulling down a $73 million contract for his six points/ seven rebounds a game.

Scola's 10 rebounds per 40 minutes is damned good, especially since he's not the primary rebounder on the Rockets.
