I'm gonna give this one more try. Here's a summary of the key points.

Flaws in Current Health Care Financing System:

Most Americans obtain their care through employers, medicaid, or Medicare.

Each component is deeply an irreparably flawed.

Many still remain unisured.

Proposal: VOUCHERS good for government mandated basic coverage.

1. Additional coverage available, but at consumers cost with AFTER-TAX dollars.

2. After-tax dollars essentially means higher taxes for additional services. Theses higher taxes will pay the cost of vouchers. Additionally, the government will save by not offering tax incentives to businesses for coverage.

3. Reliance on Private Delivery System. (I would still consider this a one payer system with the goverment being the only customer for basic coverage)

4. End of Employer-Based Insurance

5. Elimination of Medicaid and Phasing out of Medicare. Since every individual receives a voucher, there would be no need for Medicaid.

6. Administration: Similar to the federal reserve system.

7. Universal Benefits - Significantly comprehensive to provide most Americans with most of their care most of the time.

8. The plan would eliminate the problem of ADVERSE SELECTION!

I've ever read.

Standford University Professor Victor Fuchs is a leading expert in the field. You can learn more about him at http://healthpolicy.stanford.edu/people/victorrfuchs/

This was the only place I could find to share the file. Download is at the bottom.

Wanted to give this one more shot. I summarized the article. I have not read McCain's or Obama's health plan, so it would be interesting to see if they include any of the above.

There should be little focus on a presidents plan when it comes to healthcare, taxes, etc, rather what he will sign into law or veto with the congress he will have.

CONGRESS MAKES THE LAWS PEOPLE... NOT THE PRESIDENT!

He has to accept of reject their plans!
