The Dolphins have already contacted Pennington's agent, Tom Condon, a source with knowledge of the call told ESPN.com. The Jets cut Pennington on Thursday to clear salary-cap space for Brett Favre (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=112).

I hope the Dolphins sign Carter, the old Cowboys QB. Penningtons noodle arm would not help Dolphins one single bit. I like Pennington but who can he throw to in Miami. I'm not sure if he is a starter anymore and Miami should either get a STUD or throw in a qb with some potential. We know what Chad can do.
