IMO The East will take it this time specially if Kobe doens't play due to injury.

You do know if Kobe doesn't play, the West gets to replace them with another player, right? They don't have to play with four.

East. Pop will forfeit the game because he'll run out of players after refusing to play anyone who doesn't play defense.

Well I know he has to be replaced but it's not the same, nobody compares to what Kobe brings to the table, that was my point.

Except for all those players that are better than him.

Give me a call when he wins an MVP or a Finals MVP.

I can see the East winning it...Kobe is injured(like him or not he is better than TMac), Pop will limit Duncan's minutes, even if KG does get substantial minutes, he is averaging about 40 min per game this season...I don't see him putting a whole lot of effort into this game.

Meanwhile...the East will have Shaq and Lebron and AI etc...just a ton of guys that are dominant.

Just looking at it I think the East takes it easily...but who knows, maybe Nash and his Suns buddies will win the game for the West.

This will be an embarrassment for the Spurs organization if the West lose this game, why? because Popovich is coaching it, Duncan is there too and in a long shot possibly Ginobili.

OMG did you find another way to have a shot at the Spurs, I mean really, its the All Star game it means shit all and always will. No one cares for the resuly least of all the perspective organisations involved with playing and caoching.

No need to be so bitter as to the fact that at most the Lakers will have one player there.

When was the last time the lakers were so bad that they failed to have a player able to participate in the all satr game, thats kinda embaressing isn't it, yet it may well happen this season.

As for who will win, i think the west.

Duncan >>>>Hill
Garnett >>>> Carter
Kobe = LeBron
Tmac < AI
Yao <<<< Shaq

In the event of Kobe not playing, Nash would probably start, he could distribute and really get the best out of each of the players. I see it as a change of roles not nescessarily a lesser performance, as you would already have 4 accomplished scorers along with a good shooter who can really set up the break.

Nash is the ideal point for an all star game.

In an equation, Duncan is not going to play big minutes due to his recent injuries. That equalizes things with Shaq in West but West should still win.

Predict MVP = Dirk off the bench for a bunch of points.

You're SAD little man, VERY SAD!

West will win 85-78

Pop is not the only defensive minded coach in this game. Van Gundy is also a defensive minded coach. This game could get ugly.

The East look pretty good...but if the West makes it a track meet we should be alright....Obviously I would like K8 to play but if he doesn't, maybe Manu can step in and play "crazy ball"...It will be a sweet game, considering Iverson and Carter are playing phenominally right now.
