Remember the shoe conspiracy after the TEAM USA picture was taken? Well, I think I might have found proof that it is true! Back a few weeks, news reports showed Coach K covering Howard's shoe for TEAM USA's team photo. Dwight Howard is the only TEAM USA member not sponsored by NIKE.

Well, I was looking at the new pictures of TEAM USA in Beijing, and I found something that was funny and PROVES the Nike conspiracy :

What conspiracy? He's still wearing the same warmup jacket with the same logo.
Hell, if it's a conspiracy, you should have pointed out how his hand is covering up the short swoosh in the first pic, too. You can still see the swoosh on the jersey, though.

Everyone else has their left arm behind their backs, but Howard had the basketball in his, and his arm hanging down to cover a certain logo on the uniform pants. :lol

Conspiracy might be overstating it a bit. If the covering of the Nike swoosh is intentional, it probably came at the request of Howard and Adidas. I imagine Nike would actually want there to be pictures of Howard wearing their logo. Either way, it's an arrangement by rival companies to settle an awkward situation. A conspiracy would be something along the lines of a government going to the UN with a huge presentation of false information to justify the invasion of a foreign country that is strategically placed in the middle East and has tons of oil.

so in the second picture, Howard can't even wear his Addidas shoes. He's down to walking around in sandals at media events.

Um, those sandles are made by Adidas dude. And BTW, the covering of the Nike logo is and was part of the same story. lol that you're pissed people mentioned it.

I don't think there's any conspiracy. Sponsers know that there are some things out of their control. The league's uniforms are made by adidas. The players sponsered by Nike wear the uniforms. It is what it is. Finding "proof" is easy if you're looking for it.

Aren't those Adidas sandals he's wearing? The Nike swoosh on his shorts is covered by his hand, which is conveniently holding the basketball.

What's funny is the original poster and the subsequent posters are arguing two different things.
The original poster is trying to saying that the conspiracy is by Nike (collaborating with Coach K) to cover up Dwight's Adidas shoes.
Many of the rest of you are talking about Dwight trying to cover up the Nike logo.
Well, I'm not sure if Coach K was trying to cover up Dwight's Adidas's :lol But players are often forced to wear attire that conflicts with their own personal sponsorship agreements. And when that happens, they are supposed to try to cover it. Like sometimes if Kobe wears something that is adidas, he puts tape over the adidas logo.

They're actually both true. I'm sure Nike doesn't want any Adidas stuff showing, and I'm sure Adidas wants to minimized Howard's Nike signage.
This is really nothing new, going all the way back to some of the original Dream Team wearing towels on the podium to cover non-sponsor logos. Tempest in a teapot, if you ask me.

I read an article recently that Adidas is actually Michael Jordan's favorite brand of shoes, not Nike.

I just didnt know that player supposed to cover other sponsor logos,but that make sense because he's getting paid wearing a particular brand and that brand only for an assigned body spot (example: shorts,shoe,etc)

Just like ADIDAS owns Reebok, same thing. I still see it differently. Who gives a fuck, it is still not the same logo? So that means not everyone is wearing the same shoe like the others on this picture. I know if I was sponsored by Adidas, I wouldn't be wearing any ugly ass Nike's either. :king
