Surprised with Carolina, but I guess that's what Spurrier can do for ya. Also don't understand how USC is above Arkansas when we have the same value, yet Arkansas has a 6+ million more in profit. And on top of that they didn't count Benton County here in Arkansas for some reason I don't understand.

I'm not saying the ONLY reason, but the MAIN reason ND is #1 is because they don't have to share any revenue. They get all 9 mil from their tv package, they get all 14 mil from a BCS appearance, etc.

I'm sure they were referring to game venue area revenue. If you start counting Benton county it would go up for sure, but then you'd have to count Harris county for A&M and Bexar for UT etc. and those revenues would dwarf Benton. Still a good showing by Arkansas and A&M.

It's really odd that NBC would pay that much money for exclusive rights to Notre Dame Football. It's not like the team is very traditional or classic or anything.
I mean, you're simply pointing out the obvious, Mike - which is that ND is not part of a conference. The main reason is because they can afford to be independent in the first place based on their popularity. They added a whole second deck to their stadium based upon NBC's contract and they don't need the benefits of revenue sharing to raise money for the football program. Actually, in their case, revenue sharing would be a drawback.
