Q is actually a good rythm shooter... meaning if he is wide open he will probably make it...

Matrix
02-07-2005, 06:34 PM
JJ is shooting .454 % beyond the mark, I figured he'd be there before Q

Aggie Hoopsfan

Q leads the league in threes, not surprising.

Nor is Joe Johnson. He is the only guy in the top 10 in the league in 3 pt % with more than 100 three pointers made.

Quit with the hate.

As for Tpark's homeresque "Barry should be in it", no he shouldn't.

There are three Spurs shooting a higher %age from out there, and 37 players in the league that have made more threes than Barry (including one Spur - Manu).

Tpark's homeresque "Barry should be in it",

Whats his percentages for January.

BTW, WTF, I support Barry and you put him down.

LETS MAKE UP OUR MINDS HERE PEOPLE!!!! lol.

For the month of January Barry shot 27 for 53 (.509%) from 3 point range. He should be in it.

He should be representin'

Aggie Hoopsfan

He had a great month in January.

So did Dan Dickau, I guess he should start for the West...

I like Barry but I have no problem with him not being there and I don't think anyone who is arguing for him has a leg to stand on.

If you're gonna bitch about someone from the Spurs being in this contest, wonder where Manu is. He's made more threes and hit a higher %age as well.

Here's the 3 pointers made list from NBA.com

So you've got to try to justify Brent being picked over at least 34 people above him, good luck.

There's a lot of names on that list I'd love to see more than Barry, Ben Gordon for one. Crawford, Van Exel, DJones, Marshall, Jimmy Jackson, and Redd also.

Besides, I think Barry will play with more of a chip on his shoulder with the snub.

Gooooooooooooooooo Ashton Kutcher!!!

Oops, I mean Kyle Korver :)

As a fantasy owner of Korver in several leagues, I must say this kid has got wicked game from outside.

Dude drops 3-4 threes a night. I wish Ben Gordon was going to be in it as well. He'll be cruising along with 4-5 points in a game, then drop 14-16 in the fourth, usually buoyed by a couple of threes.

Damon Jones should have been there before Q, even though he's slumped badly in the past couple of weeks.

Selection criteria are tough. Should it be based just on what they've done the first half of the year, or on their career?

Kori Ellis

I thought Cuttino would be in it. I also thought maybe Ben Gordon and Jason Terry.

What happened to Peja this year?

Kori Ellis
02-08-2005, 12:16 AM
I understand that Peja will not be participating in any All-Star activities due to reoccuring back spasms.

ShoogarBear

Not to be confused with the recurring throat spasms he suffers in the playoffs.

Thanks, Kori.

Probably better anyways. Now it might actually be a contest again.

There is no way Qrich is a pure three point shooter. He is a streaky shooter, and mostly a scorer. He takes TONS of threes, regardless of where he is on the floor.

He might come and hit 10 threes on the Spurs next time around, but hes not a type of guy who would succeed in a three point contest. He is a scorer. Not a shooter in the slightest.

I would put Dirk Nowitzki in Q's place

Brent has already won this as well as the dunk contest....been there done that....

He has never won the 3pt contest, and no, he doesn't deserve it. 36% doesn't cut it.

Joe Johnson in there is a joke.

He has made almost double the amount of 3's and shoots 9% better than Brent Barry who you are saying should be in there.

What the fuck?

I think they use the percentages for the season. That is why Barry did not make it.
Ginobili actually has a better percentage.

To all of you lets really look at the numbers. These guys season numbers, besides Korver are not very good. Brent's numbers are around 36% he shot over 50% for the month of January...On top of that, look at their "career" 3pt percentage. Brent's is better than all of them...Why shouldn't he be there. He's won the Dunk contest, he has a shot to be the first to win both...Give him a chance. Plus, he was invited last year, and unfortuantely broke his finger a week or so before the contest and had to drop out. Why not invite him back!

For this same reasoning the League should have invited Brent....

David Stern will pout and cry when the Spurs reach the Finals and give his league low TV ratings.... (at no fault of their own.. but rather based on people thinking the Spurs are boring).

From a fans perspective, it is much easier to market a team with a 2-time MVP, Perennial All-Star (Duncan), 2 additional All-Star caliber players (Ginobili, Parker), a Gold-Medal Olympian (Ginobili), and the 3-pt shootout champion (Barry) -- should all of this unfold as such. Not to mention the All-Star Head Coach with the highest winning percentage in all of professional sports over the last 7-8 years (Pop).

After all isn't this what you would want to market against the Diesel (should the Heat reach the Finals) or against the Pistons (should there be a clash of the past two NBA champions)????

Does Brent even want to go....???

I guess Kori can't ask him considering the rodeo is in town....
