I dont care about Finley or whoever on my roster. I'll say this for the record: MANU will kill next season !!! He knows his injured feet was the reason Fakers, i mean, Lakers won :flipoff. He'll be back angry, and you dont wanna see the crazy Manu angry:ihit, because we re talking about the #1 competitor in the whole planet.
Also, Tony, i mean, MR. Longoria:married:, will be back faster than ever, and with a killer mid jumper.
Also, Duncan, i mean, MR. BEST BIG MAN EVER:bang, will be back like always, like a silent assassin, growing up in the playoffs.

I dont care a shiiittt who is gonna be on my roster, but take my word: our BIG 3 will step up big time. SPURS CHAMPS 2009 :lobt2::lobt2::lobt2::lobt2::lobt2:!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!
Think about it: only 2 factors won us last season: Manu's injured ankle, and David Stern LAL/BOS conspiracy. Do NOT panic :nope!!!!!
All you guys should learn from the master Mr. Duncan: never panic :nope!!!

Udoka should be ready to have a greater role... if Mason averages 10 and Hill becomes reliable we should be in better shape than last season... i just wish Bonner and Mahimni surprises us all...

Think about it: we arent in a bad situation. Last year we were GREAT. Everybody knows Manu's injury was the reason he didn't respond as the real Manu vs. Lakers. Also, remember BOS/LAL conspiracy??????
Do you remember Fisher non-called foul on Barry in the 3pts line. Of course, the mummy Joe Crawford did it !!!! Its wasnt the Spurs, just third persons and an injury in our white Jordan (Manu). So, can you imagine a healthy Manu last playoffs, with no Joe Crawford and no LAL/BOS conspiracy?
In addition, you should add to the next season: Kurt will be comfortable with the system, and adapted already. Mason should know this year will be a test for him, so he'll play well. I see a nice potential on Udoka. His 3pts success is nice, with great hustle and great hands on defense. Regarding Finley, it could be his last season, so i dont see him playing bad. Last season he made nice buckets, of course, he is now one spot shooter. Again, DO NOT PANIC.

Just so you know, Barry traveled before Fisher fouled him. One non-call deserves another. See here for video proof. Kori (Boss Lady) closed it right away, so it saw no life: http://www.spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97449

There were also 3 bad calls just before then that benefited SA. Speaking of non-calls, TD probably traveled just before he hit is 3-pointer against the Suns in game 1 of the playoffs. Dig up a video and have a look. His pivot foot appears to leave the ground. Non-calls are part of the game. So, a non-call against TD was the correct call.

The west is up for grabs, I don't think any team in contention last year is panicking. :)

im to old to panic......but it wasnt manu ankle and sterns cels/lakers conspiracy as to why we werent crowned champions. if anything it was not winning HCA and the tough schedule that followed by not winning HCA......imo if we had won HCA with or without manus so called bad ankle, we would have at least been in boston.

The thing not to do at this point is to create a thread telling other fans who may be disgruntled to "calm down" and "not to worry"....you'll meet more resistance that way. What you do is get a thread going asking for unbiased, optimistic input as to why the season might be a success despite what many may view as a not-so-stellar offseason.

Oh, and let's give the "conspiracy theory" topic a rest for a while.

I wouldn't say its over but we really didn't get much done to make ourselves better. I wouldn't blame the Spurs FO though. I didn't and don't ever expect much from a late 1st round pick. The Spurs were hoping to try and get another steal out of the draft, but they fell short this year(I mean how many times can you beat the house). Not to say George Hill is a lost cause but it seems more and more like he is a work in progress type of project atm. Mason was a good pick up, he should help keep defenses honest with his range. The Spurs couldn't snag anyone out of free agency. Again who are you gonna blame for that; they took their shot at Magette and he signed for a gajillion dollars with the Warriors because Byron Davis felt like playing somewhere else lol. Everyone else was either overpriced or went over seas. Including our last hope Gist. I had high hopes for him but apparently he was added to the list of casualities. So with the uncertainty of a late 1st round pick, the departure of a 2nd round pick overseas, the near strike out in the free agency market(besides Mason); we are kind of left back at square one again this year lol.

Despite all that I would never count us out. If our 3 stars are healthy we will always have a shot at the title. I think championship experience counts for something. We will find a way to over achieve, endure, hang around even when we have no business doing so. The Spurs organization has a knack of getting the most out of their players. With all that being said you ain't gonna see me doubting us. It ain't over til the fat lady sings! :p:

we could have gotten a better prospect in this year's draft considering who was available.

they were just begging us to beat the house this year. that's my only complaint. we should have taken darrell arthur. i hope i'm wrong.

:lmao:lmao:lmao:lmao AT THIS PATHETIC THREAD. I’m sick and tired of people using the Manu injury as an excuse why we lost, LA didn’t Bynum as well I know he's no Manu but he’s still valuable to them.

We lost that series because:
1. We got killed on the boards (the dud Oberto getting out reb by farmer etc)
2. Offensive droughts
3. Kurt Thomas didn’t get minutes till game 5.
4. We didn’t collapse on Kobe like we did on Lebron in the NBA finals.
5. No bench production besides Barry. (WHY BECUSE TOO MANY PLAYERS WE'RE DONE.)

AND BY THE WAY STOP FUCKING SMOKIN WEED.

The fact is: people will remember Spurs performance last season as a 2007 Champ not repeating. But people will remember Lakers last year as a SHAME, do you know why? One of the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history (Celtics won that game when Lakers in front by almost 30pts), and then the biggest blowout :lolin the last game !!!!!!!! History will laugh :lmaoon Lakers performance last Finals, because they made history, but in a bad and shame way. lol lol lol lol

I am not worried. If anything, the Spurs still have their core intact and didn't add too many pieces where they would have to worry about them "gelling" together. It isn't a bad thing to have a bit of youth in reserve spots and that is what we have now. The starters always get the bulk of the minutes, but what we need is just any contribution our reserves can offer.

I think we may be better than people are giving us credit for. I am loving how people in the media are underestimating us more. It just makes me know that this team is going to tear it up this year. The more people go against you, the stronger you become. Truth be told...most teams still don't want to play the Spurs in the playoffs.

I think the one team people worry about meeting is New Orleans, but nobody is scared of the Suns, Mavs, Jazz, or Rockets. Lakers, Spurs, and Hornets are the top 3 in my view.

I agree, IF healthy and IF no Stern, Spurs are automatic champs.

We don't need to add a Corey Maggette type of player when we are 100% healthy, BUT if Manu is injured it's nice to have someone like him to step up and attack the rim.
Plus, having TP+Manu+Corey= not so boring, so ok for Stern
