I was referring more to Shawn Johnson, but you must consider the physical force necessary to do some of the stunts they perform. Go to a meet in real life some time and watch the gymnasts in warm ups. I bet some of them have 40 inch vertical leaps, higher than that on the springy mat. It's uncanny.

Perhaps the most deceptive thing about the female gymnasts in particular is that they have complete body strength. Anyone who knows their worth in a weightroom has to chuckle at the guys who only work the "beach muscles" (abs, arms, shoulders, chest, back). Real strength comes from the entire body, and I bet there are some female gymnasts who can press that much -- or more.

I never said she was attractive, but judges and gymnastics comentators always described her routines and posture as elegant, an attribute that is now used a lot when refering to Nastja.

I've attended quite a few top gymnastics tournament (long story) where the USSR, Romanian and other top teams regularly performed. I've actually met Nadia Comaneci (sp?) a few years before her retirement. And the way I described them is how I saw them. Maybe it was the pressure of the competition (believe me they were taking that stuff very seriously). But if it's not true for others, I'm glad because those little girls looked like they escaped from a hospital.

That's not even a toe. If you count there is the big one then 3 small ones, the last one is behind the rail which would make five. What we see looks like an amputated toe, but is the skin gap between the 1st big toe and the 2nd toe.
