Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski will not return to coach Team USA after the conclusion of this month's Olympic Games in Beijing, according to The Boston Globe.

USA Basketball managing director Jerry Colangelo says he will decide who will take over after the Olympics.

Sounds like Mike D'antoni will be next in line then.

Sounds like Mike D'antoni will be next in line then.

They might as well not even go then. The Redeem team is winning with monster defense leading to easy points, a decidedly weak area of Three First Names coaching tool box.

I'm gonna go on a limb and say the job will be Nate McMillan's.

*Prays... please don't give to job to D'Antoni. :lol

Give the job to Gregg Popovich, he knows the international game better than most.

Popovich is the perfect coach for Team USA in my opinion.

How do these forums work? Because this has nothing to do with the Spurs.

It is a favoritocracy. If they like you, then you can post a thread wherever. If they don't, then your thread is locked before it starts.

Is this a surprise? None of the previous head coaches returned for the following Olympics since Team USA started using NBA players.

Pop is defensive minded coach with a great knowledge of the international game so of course Colangelo will give it to D'Antoni.....and we'll go back to losing to Puerto Rico by 19 points...

doubt Pop wants to coach a team of superstars... doesnt want to deal with the egos.
