Other names being tossed about on the blogosphere include...Kathleen Sebelius, Bill Richardson, Ted Strickland, Brian Schweitzer, Ed Rendell, Janet Napolitano, and Tom Vilsack

Believe it or not, I'm leaning torwards Clinton at this time. Biden told reporters tonight it wasn't him and I think he was being honest. I just have a sick feeling that he's going to select Clinton. I'm not sure how that would play out.

I think its Biden. Biden had a grin on his face when he said it wasnt him, so I wouldnt take it one way or the other

Hillary.

The polls aren't trending good for Obama; she is his best hope to win.

Polls really dont mean shit at this point and he is up in the majority of them

however they've been wrong most of this whole season even during the primaries....esp considering its August - the conventions have not even happened nor any debates whatever is being thrown out now means little.

I think we can scratch Bayh off the list. I can't see Obama bringing this developing problem into the campaign.

Across the boards:
Bayh says wife's corporate roles hold no sway over his votes
By Sylvia A. Smith

WASHINGTON – Since leaving Indiana as a first lady, Susan Bayh has become a professional board member, earning more than $1 million a year in director fees for advice she gives to companies that make pharmaceuticals, operate radio stations, sell health insurance policies, offer online banking and distribute ingredients to fast-food restaurants.

In the past four years, Bayh collected more than $1.7 million in pre-tax income when she exercised stock options from two of the corporations. Her actual income from exercising stock options is higher, but the details of one transaction were not publicly reported.

During the same time, her husband, Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., cast more than 3,000 votes, including some on issues of keen interest to the pharmaceutical, broadcast, insurance, food-distribution and finance industries.

Bayh said his wife’s business interests never influence how he votes, the bills he introduces or the positions he takes.

“I can honestly tell you that if my wife did not have a job, none, I can’t think of a single decision I’ve made that would be any different. I look at what’s best for our state and our country and my own conscience,” he said. “My integrity matters more to me than anything, so I always do what’s right for the people who put their trust in me.”

Susan Bayh declined to be interviewed for this story.

I firmly believe that you would have been one of the asshats in Germany during the rise of the Nazi party that would have accused anybody that criticized Hitler's policies as being "anti-german".

Blind jingoism ill-serves democracies, and anyone who can't think of a bad thing that their country has ever done deserves to be banished to some dictatorship where that is the official party line.

I'm not really a political guru at all. But he seems to makes sense with some of the stuff I hear him say. I didn't read the reasoning behind him saying that.

Probably because it's so obvious and would be negative in two respects...

Getting someone with so much "experience" in Washington 1) is somewhat of an admittance by Obama and the campaign that it's a major weakness and 2) it runs contrary to the message of change and new politics.

Still, you could view the experience (specifically foreign policy) as a major plus. Not to mention, he's the type of pitbull you want that can launch counter-attacks while Obama takes the high road. He's also fairly well known on the national stage.

Sure there are some negatives, but he really seems to be the strongest choice at this point.

Well the media won't say that, but it is true. IMO should've gone with someone fresh, from the outside, but Biden is a very intelligent senator. Don't agree with everything he says, but hes a good american and his son is one hell of an american.

Hell, I wanted to wait until after the Nevada caucus to make my prediction, but I guess now is as good a time as any -

D - Obama/Biden
R - McCain/Lieberman (GOP goes apeshit)

W - Obama/Biden

I don't think my GOP prediction will pan out, but there are rumors that Lieberman is being considered.
