Nothing escapes you.

Sorry man, nobody watches the Olympics anymore.

Why is that? 'cause the US didn't get the gold on this one?

Nah, nobody cares to see a bunch of doping prima donnas play, unless you live in a certain South American country which needs to latch onto anything to rescue its flagging national pride.

Apparently that country could use a sense of humor and sarcasm as well.

Okay back to the subject at hand. Everyone thinks that Scola will be here next season (we'll see). I'm not sure that Javtokas has enough talent to make it to the NBA. The intriguing one is Sanikidze, who is so young that he's probably 3 or 4 years away at least, but obviously the Spurs are high on him.

Karaulov is just a mystery.

I think that Scola and Sanikidze will both soon join the Spurs. Sato has a chance to be a player, but he's pretty short to be anything other than a combo guard off the bench. I haven't heard anything positive or negative about Javtokas or Karaulov in a while.

I bet the announcers are keen for him to get into the league. Great name.

It's intriguing to have all these guys hidden away. As said, Scola should be here and I know nothing about Karaulov.

I really, really hope Javtokas can make it.

Can someone please add to this thread the Spurs future draft picks (just the next 2-3 years), assuming we get Phoenix's #1 this next draft.

I believe...

2005
1st rounder
Suns' 1st rounder

2006
1st
2nd

2007
1st
2nd

They gave up their 2nd rounder this year to the Hawks last year for the rights to Sanikidze.

So basically they have the rights to a significant number of prospects and they should have 6 picks over the next 3 years (including two low first rounders this year) to work with to bolster the...farm team.

Karaulov is just a mystery.

Is this guy alive or even a real person. Can't find crap on him.

From what I can tell from Karaulov's team, BC Khimki, Sergey is not even on the 12 man playing roster in the A League, yet...an A League team that sports Ruben Wolkowysky (ARG NT), Melvin Booker and Oscar Torres. He's a B-Leaguer in development.

He's tall and the Spurs saw something. That's it, nothing more right now.

It's difficult to find "English" versions of team info. Here is one from earlier this season.

http://www.bckhimki.ru/team/indexen.php

Not a great translation but decent, I guess. Here's what it says about Sergey.

Sergey KARAULOV. He trains with a team already enough for a long time, from the beginning of year, but to claim he we had not time. It is convinced, scouts of NBA "miss" extremely seldom. I think, Sergey understands, that his hit in "draft" is advance payment to the perspective tall player that should be fulfilled. Sergey does to prove to everything, that a choice "San Antonio" was not casually. I think, he will play first time more in the second team, but constantly to be in a zone of our attention, be ready to transition to the following level.
