What sort of information do you find interesting to read in the bios of bands you like?

Is there any information that you find lame on a bio?

Serious responses please.
Thanks. :)

I find anything more than name and role in the band as pretentious.

For the band itself, who they've opened for can be informative if they are relatively unknown. This can't be much help for a band that is just starting out, so I guess one could include any previous bands and work in individual bios. I leave all that stuff to the other douchebags I play with.

Really?

I researched online and it did say less is more.

So you don't care to know people's age or where they are from? Nothing like that?

I guess I could always start with just name and role in the band and then add more as people express interest.

If they're just starting out and haven't opened for anyone you can include their influences, bands they listen to.

So you don't care to know people's age or where they are from?I'm older than most, so I don't care how much younger everyone else is unless it's some kind of teenage prodigy -- it might be important if you are looking to be discovered, but someone looking at you that way would just ask. Location can be significant if it had any connection to previous experience. It would probably be a detriment to my "career" if I stated my hometown though.

I'd like to know any pet peeves they may have, such as having to hit the drums too many times, or having to play too many strings on their guitar.

The best thing to do would be to get all ironic and copy the intros from "Song For A Future Generation":

Hey, I'm Fred the
Cancerian from New Jersey
I like collecting records and exploring
The cave of the unknown

Hello, I'm Cindy, I'm a Pisces
And I like chihuahuas and
Chinese noodles

Hi, my name is Ricky and I'm a Pisces
I love computers and hot tamales

Hey, I'm Kate and I am a Taurus
I love tomatoes and black-capped
Chickadees

Hey, my name is Keith and I'm a
Scorpio from Athens, G-A and I like
To find the essence from within

One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite bands.

I used to use random lines occasionally to respond to pick up lines -- the people who recognized it were awarded instant cool points, those who didn't were quickly revealed as lame and I could go on about my business.

That's the first time I've speedtested since I changed ISPs. Not bad.
