They will play in Latvia but against Georgia, not against Latvia.
It will be interesting to see if Sanikidze will play in this game.

He bears a striking resemblence to the guy who won gold in the Decathalon for the U.S.

Well plenty of players are out for these games :
F. Pietrus, M. Pietrus, Petro, Mahinmi, Gelabale, Diaw, Batum, Ajinca, Noah, etc

So Parker is a true big improvement for the team, he should be able to make things easier.

Here's the french group for the following games :
Prénom Nom Taille Age Poste Club 2007/2008
Yannick BOKOLO 1,88 22 2 Le Mans SB
Stephen BRUN 2,02 27 4 BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque
Nando DE COLO 1,95 20 2 Cholet Basket
Yakhouba DIAWARA 2,01 25 3 Denver Nuggets (NBA)
William GRADIT 1,97 26 3 JA Vichy
Dounia ISSA 2,00 27 5 JA Vichy
Tariq KIRKSAY 1,98 28 3 Unics Kazan (Russie)
Claude MARQUIS 2,04 28 5 Cholet Basket
Tony PARKER 1,86 26 73 San Antonio Spurs (NBA)
Marc-Antoine PELLIN 1,70 20 1 Chorale de Roanne
William SOLIMAN 2,02 28 4 Chorale de Roanne
Steed TCHICAMBOUD 1,93 27 1 Cholet Basket

Those friendly games aim at preparing the team for euro qualifications in september.
Since there are plenty of new guys, the goal is to create some chemistry.

That roster is a bit strange with 3 NBA players and a bunch of second or even third hand guys who are here because the two other guys at their spot denied the selection.

If Georgia puts their best on the court, they are more then capable of beating the shit out of France. Names like Boisa, Markoishvili, Ugrekhelidze, Zaza Pachulia, Tyrone Ellis and some others may not be too familiar in your part of the earth, but believe you me...they can play!

Look, I don't know if you ever watched French team play, but in the last few years, that team is an example of how not to play a game of basketball. They have a bunch of athletic SFs an PFs with very limited "basketball skils" (I'm talking about handling the ball, shooting, tactics and other "shit" that has nothing to do with physical abilities) Only Tony really knows the game. They dont have any real SG and they don't have any Cs worth mentioning. Their golden ages are gone and their best players are retired for a few years now.
Georgian team is much more "sound" regarding pure basketball knowledge, but they have other things on their minds right now, so French team would win despite their weaknesses, I guess.

Indeed!
Going from 2FT shy of beating Russia to being lucky to defeat a stunned Georgia team in just one year is a very sad statement.

Or is it just insulting bull from a France hater?

Btw, how many medals for Slovenia in Beijing?

:toast

IAs I mentioned earlier, they lack some team chemistry, but dude !

quarter final in 2007, close to beat Russia

And why would I hate France? I even have some relatives living there. I'm just stating the obvious. Name me one Shooting guard that means something in Europe, even better name me one Center. And don't even try with that Frederic Weis shit (that is the guy Vince Carter jumped over:lmao).
Slovenian national basketball team has beaten almost every team in the world, but they always chicken out when it matters. So we have a crappy bball team but, sorry to say, SO DO YOU!

About the medals in the Olympics.

5....thanks for asking.
That means that Slovenia is third in the world counting medals per head of population (official data). Not to shabby huh?

They're on their way, but most of them dream to play in the NBA. Anyway, I do agree that France is underachieving, but to say they are not favorites against Georgia.... :wow

4th actually, but it's great indeed. I'm always impressed by the density of great athletes in your region (former Yugoslavia and around). What's the secret?

And you should be careful evoquing that particular ranking as it may hurt our US friends pride...

French NT sucks right know but they have potential.
With the same generation, they finished 5th in the 2006 world championship behind the top 4 team in the world (usa, spain, argentina, greece) and they were without Tony.

There is no secret, we just have more natural talent then anybody else.
Yap, and we are better looking too!

Just kidding, we are just average Joes, but because of our smallness, every talent is much more cherished then in big systems, which can afford too lose a bunch of their talents true their rigorous selections. Our coaches are much more willing to wait for somebody to develop. Also I believe that big counties are offering bigger range of possibilities for some individual too succeed in many different areas, so their talent gets sprayed.
