From an interview with the AV Club...
AVC: Are you looking forward to the Knicks in a post-Isiah Thomas era?
WA: Well, I was looking forward to the Isiah Thomas era. [Laughs.] I don't think anything's going to happen. I think they're definitely going to be better. There's no question at this point, because there's been so much pressure on them to be better. I think Isiah came in and tried to make them better, but he was faced with a very, very difficult situation. It's not easy to just come in and take a team and simply make it better, and then the fans get impatient. You know it'll be wild enthusiasm at first, and then as soon as the results don't happen, the fans start to get impatient, and they want to tar and feather you. So he definitely tried. He came in and bought the players that logically would be exciting. As much as the fans got on [point guard Stephon] Marbury, they were thrilled to the nines when he joined the team. Everyone was excited, and I thought Isiah tried, but it was too tough to do, and I think [new coach] Mike D'Antoni is going to try, and I think with time and some sense, they'll gradually get better. But there's a difference between being better and being fun to watch. A workmanlike team that wins games is not necessarily a team that is fun to watch. What I'd like the Knicks to develop into is a team that's fun and that's colorful and that you really like to watch every night, which is the way they were many years ago. It was fun to watch them, because they didn't just pile up wins in unappealing ways.
AVC: Like the [San Antonio] Spurs.
WA: Yeah. I'd really rather be entertained and have them come in second than be bored stiff and see them grind to a first-place finish.

So he would rather his team come on second!! I wouldn't I will take first anytime no matter what kind of game they play. BTW he is VERY BORING like dude said above, infact he puts your brain to sleep.

In terms of art, literature, and film, he is smarter than most. How's that any different from you regularly telling people on spurstalk that they are dumb and don't know what they're talking about?

For the average schmo who loves cheering for his team, winning is the ultimate goal.

Woody Allen is a modern day American genius -- I forgive him of his sins.:flag:

In terms of cinema, how the hell can you argue any different?? The man is a great director. So he doesn't like the Spurs, who the fuck cares? He's still a genius behind the camera.
You can't be serious...
Oh, yes, Mr. McEnroe I am.
Check out this Newsweek article -- Woody struggles with the void, the meaningless flicker of life and the randomness of all that we call reality.
(This is what being a Knicks fan can do.)

Bruatails, you just quoted T Park. God, right now, is probably abandoning his plans to end the world they way he says it would end in the Bible, and just saying, "fuck it, I'm gonna end this shit right now." He's at least contemplating it. what the hell is this world coming to.

Right-- you insinuate that people who don't know as much about basketball as you are dumb and it irritates you to read their uninformed opinions, and Woody insinuates that people who don't know as much about film and literature as he does are dumb and have irritating uninformed opinions that drive him crazy.
You guys are practically identical, except that you've chosen different topics to behave the same about.
what a great movie. Back then, much more sophisticated than his previous ones.
E20 - Bananas, Sleeper, or Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex may be more along what you want. As a bonus for you, a young Sylvester Stallone is in Bananas.
Yeah I know Bananas was Stallones' first credited movie. He played a subway thug IIRC. The reason Annie Hall was sort of bad for me, because woody allen is an unnattractive short dude and he is having sex with like a young fine diane keaton doesn't make sense.

Oh yeah I am sure he enjoyed that BORING team making the finals in 99 as well, I am sure he hated that they played great D and slowed the game down so much like SA did or does!!!!! Thats what wins right? If it were his team he would be thrilled, period.

The Spurs are not boring, I'm sick of that shit. Anyone who likes run and gun doesn't really like basketball, in my opinion.
People call Spurs boring because is envy, stupid, or just because they like to troll. I think Allen here just answered a poisoned question without too much thinking.

The Spurs are "boring" because they're in a small market. The Knicks during the Jordan era were appropriately hyped (they were tough!), but the NBA is a different animal these days. Posterity, though, will judge Timmy & Co kindly.

For one I do enjoy them play.
and i am sure you are too, and if that's not enough every year in the playoffs we have some of the most exciting games.

It is true, the less intellectually endowed among us might struggle to understand the often lofty ideas in his films, which I suppose, could contribute to feelings of boredom amongst that sect. The rest of us who are smart enough to keep up though? I'd say we almost unanimously find his body of work compelling & entertaining. Moreover, it is firmly rooted in a critical sense to a much larger and older literary/philosophical world. In short, if you aren't fascinated with the works of one of the all time great existential thinkers/critics, then it would be fair to conclude that you're probably not too fascinated in any meaningful way with the idea of what it is to be human. That sucks for you.
But, to each his own right? So I found something more up your alley.

LOL. You're full of shit, man. I'm not an intellectual by any stretch of the imagination and I understand fully and laugh really hard at most of his shit.
Some people just have different taste in humor. It's as simple as that. It doesn't take a genius to figure out or laugh any of his movies.

Clearly, you haven't seen Annie Hall, Manhattan, or Crimes and Misdemeanors.
OK, let's talk about these 3 films.
Annie Hall - a neurotic woman that drives you so nuts watching her you want to go out and get hooked on Xanax yourself.:bang
Manhattan - a pedophile's love story. Wasn't it fun watching a middle-aged perv banging a 17 yr. old?:rolleyes Kind of a pre-curser to his real life. And cloaking this drivel in black and white doesn't make Allen more of an "artist" either.
Crimes and Misdemeanors - depressing story about a guy planning a murder. On a side note, Woody Allen plays a guy trying to make a movie.:sleep
I hope the Knicks suck for another 10 years so Allen will pull out what's left of his hair.

You gotta love T Park's unshakable love and loyalty to the Spurs. You say one negative thing about them and T Park is telling you what you had for breakfast.
Like him or not, he's a loyal fan.
