My brother came off the field one time holding his hand palm up, with his arm straight out in front of him with his pinkie finger dangling straight down toward the ground.

He went up to his coach, who's old school and had been coaching for 35 years and said "Coach....my finger!!"

His coach grabbed his hand, shoved the finger joint back in place and literally kicked him in the ass and told him to get back on the field where he played out the rest of the game.

No x-ray necessary. True story.
