SpursTalk's Top 50 Spurs
1. Tim Duncan
2. David Robinson
3. George Gervin
4. Gregg Popovich
5. Angelo Drossos
6. Manu Ginobili
7. Tony Parker
8. Sean Elliott
9. James Silas
10. Bruce Bowen
11. Larry Kenon
12. Avery Johnson
13. Alvin Robertson
14. Johnny Moore

------------------------------

To pass the time until the start of preseason, let's see how SpursTalk.com ranks the Top 50 Spurs. Those eligible for the list include all players, coaches and owners. I don't want to define "top" too narrowly, but I think the best way to do it would be to think of the list as a list of the 50 most influential people who have helped make the Spurs one of the most successful franchises in the history of sport.

For more information on what we are doing, check out this thread (http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103061).

In this thread, we will vote for spot number 15. Please place your vote. If you will, also explain in this thread why you voted how you did.

Thanks.

P.S.

Poll options listed in alphabetical order. If you want to vote for someone not on the list, post in the thread and I'll add the person.

Voting will end 2AM CST Sunday morning.

Please vote only once.

I'm stuck between Holt and Buford right now.

Holt for obviously funding the team and the new arena and making the current Spurs era possible. Then again, for Holt this is all an investment that he's just making out on; Had the Spurs not been so rabidly successful, Holt would still be footing the bill.

Buford, however, has left his fingerprints all over our scouting game and is mostly responsible for both Manu and Tony. Without them, the Spurs go nowhere after 99. Since they've already gotten their credit, I think you gotta tip the hat to the guy who found them.

Go R.C.

Ping pong balls should definitely be on the list.

I laughed at first, but there have been teams with LOTS more ping pong balls than us. In a little over 20 years, we've been in the lottery 4 times: 87, 88, 89, 97. We got DRob, Willie Anderson, Sean Elliott, and TD. Other teams get stuck with Kandi Man and Kwame. It would really be a combination of ping pong balls and a calendar. We had them in the right years.
