Dunno. They wore their green old jerseys with Dallas on the front, not P-Diddy's green ones.

DALLAS (January 12, 2005) – The Dallas Mavericks and The History Channel® will continue the Mavs 25th anniversary celebration with a series of retro games as part of the NBA Hardwood Classics Nights program. Increasingly, fans are looking to connect to the game’s past and gain a better appreciation for legendary stars and teams as well as “retro” apparel and fashions. During the “Hardwood Classics Nights” presented by The History Channel, they will be treated with special features and activities, including:


Mavs adorned in retro jerseys made exclusively by Reebok

Video tributes to past teams and legends

Halftime performance by retro band/entertainer

80s-themed in-game promotions, music and entertainment

“This is all about celebrating our heritage in a fun and entertaining way through various 80s themed events and activities during the games,” said Mavs Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications Matt Fitzgerald. “We encourage fans to dig deep in their closets for their retro Mavs green apparel, and if they can’t find it they can stop by the fan shop on their way to the game.”

During the 2004-05 season, the Mavs will play a total of seven games in a replica of the green uniform the club wore in its first Western Conference Finals appearance during the 1987-88 season. The History Channel will present the five home games that will be dedicated to the Hardwood Classics theme and help make the past come alive for Mavs fans.

“For the second consecutive year, the great history and tradition of the game will be brought to life by the The Hardwood Classics Nights presented by The History Channel,” said Michael Mohamed, Senior Vice President, The History Channel. “We are thrilled to partner with the Mavs to recognize players, coaches and exciting competitions of the past, especially as the team celebrates its 25th anniversary.”

The Mavs 2004-05 Hardwood Classics Nights Schedule is:
Jan. 18 vs. Washington, 7:30 p.m. CT, Washington will wear the jerseys from the Baltimore Bullets 1970-71; Giveaway: Harper Legend Bobblehead Night
Feb. 8 vs. Chicago, 7:30 p.m. CT, Bulls will wear their home uniform; Giveaway: Legend Bobblehead Night
Feb. 11 @ Sacramento, 9:30 p.m. CT, Sacramento will wear their road uniform from the 1985-86 season
March 4 @ L.A. Lakers, 9:30 p.m. CT, The Lakers will wear their road uniform from the 1959-60 season
March 7 vs. Toronto, 7:30 p.m. CT, Toronto will wear their home uniform; Giveaway: Legend Bobblehead Night March 10 vs. L.A. Lakers, 8:30 p.m. CT, The Lakers will wear their road uniform from the 1959-60 season; Event: 80s Music Halftime
April 9 vs. Utah, 7:30 p.m. CT, Utah will wear their home uniform; Event: HWC Merchandise Sale

About the NBA Hardwood Classics Nights Program
This is the fourth consecutive season that NBA teams have recognized their past with a themed night. During the 2001-02 season, the Los Angeles Lakers honored their Minneapolis roots with a special ceremony, banner unveiling, attendance by Minneapolis legends including George Mikan and retro uniforms. Last season, twelve teams hosted NBA Hardwood Classics Nights games.
