This morning on the Today show, Biden was being interviewed (gonna paraphrase from memory here)

Talking about Palin's speech last night, he says, "her sister and her husband with their service station are going to do better under a Democrat administration....unless they make over $250,000".

Well, there it is.

Saying that people who make under 1/4 of a million per year will do better under a Democratic administration is "class warfare"?

How?

He set a bar, based on income, as to who will be favored under the administration which he has signed on to - he stated it. He could have said, "they will do better under our administration," and left it at that; but he didn't; he added the divisive caveat - and along with it a disincentive to being too successful.

Should I use crayon?

"IF YOU MAKE OVER $250,000 (heaven forbid if they are running an s-corp) WITH YOUR SMALL, RISKY, START UP BUSINESS, OUR ADMINISTRATION IS GOING TO PUNISH YOU - AND WE ARE GOING TO TRUMPET THE FACT THAT WE ARE GOING TO PUNISH YOU IN ORDER TO WIN FAVOR WITH THOSE MASSES WHO ARE LESS SUCCESSFUL."

"Doing better" from nominal tax cuts under $250K is narrow and meaningless.

"Doing better" would be re-attaching people with under $250K income to the general rise in national wealth, because they have become detached, with household incomes stagnant or declining under 7 years Repugs, while Repugs' extreme tax cuts ($800 fucking billion just in estate tax cuts) for the over $250K has seen concentration of wealth at the very top explode.

The genius of the Repugs is getting enough of the lower 98% to vote Repug to keep the lower 98% getting poorer and poorer.

Did anybody hear the Repug convention talk about economic policies OR the Iraw war OR GWOT this week? Palin is nothing but a huge distraction of "personality politics" (Repugs can't run on issues or Repug successes, since they've screwed all the issues, and failed to succeed at anything that would help the lower 98%) from the inevitable prospect of McSame continuing Repug efforts mismanage the US govt and economy and geo-politics to benefit of the top 2%.

If it helps you express yourself more clearly, please, by all means.

By the way, whose words are those?

Let them attack the wealthy. They know how to hide money and can survive during slow times.

Let the government employ everyone. I'm sure they can find something for everyone to do.

The problem is, small businesses file such that they make more than 1/4 million. When the businesses have to pay more in taxes, the prices go up to make up the difference to maintain net profits. American families under their plan get what, and extra $1,000 per year tax credit? That will simply be chewed up, and then some, to cover the higher prices!

In Alaska 250 K wouldn't be that much money. Folks used to make big bucks up there.
