Ukrainian National team shocked France in Kiev beating them 78:77. The second round of European Champion qualifiers tied both teams at 1-1. The key factor for the hosts was terrific long-range shooting display as Ukraine made 10/19 three-pointers. Serhiy Lishchuk (210-C/F-82) led the winners with 18 points. Rostyslav Kryvych (198-F/G-78) netted 15 and Oleksandr Kolchenko (198-F/G-88) scored 12. Tony Parker (183-G-80) shined with 30 points and 4 rebounds, while Ronny Turiaf (208-C/F-83, agency: Priority Sports, college: Gonzaga) added 19.
Kravtsov opened the scoring account for the hosts as 2500 fans started to support Ukraine. France did not mind playing abroad and won the opening tip 25:19 as Tony Parker nailed from the arc. Onufriyev tied the score for his team at 31:31 and Oleksandr Kolchenko brought the 37:35 lead. After 20:15 Frnace still had 40:39 advantage at the halftime.
In the third period France replied with the same 20:15 and had 60:54 when Soliman made a jump-shot.
Oleksandr Kolchenko struck to tie the game at 66:66, and after Tony Parker buried a jumper, Andriy Agafonov drilled a three to put the Ukrainians on top for the first time in the final period with three minutes to go. Serhiy Lishchuk followed with a trey to make it 75:73 with one minute on the board. With 3 seconds to go Tony Parker went to the free throw line with 78:75. He made both of them but could only close to 78:77 as Ukraine Train gains the speed.
