Not watching it. But I do have two questions:
1. Who is Russell Brand?
2. What is he saying?

I think I would prefer input from Peter Hitchens of the UK Daily Mail than some British comedian. There haven't been any good comdeians from across the pond since Benny Hill and Morecambe and Wise left the scene.

Straight talk? Is that what they're calling coked out rants on the VMAs these days?

The comments were idiotic; it's the same ignorant drivel you hear from liberals. Immediately going to the 'you're an idiot' card because someone thinks differently than you, and therefore is stupid. Let's get something straight...Bush probably knew it was unlikely that they'd find WMDs, but he figured even so, the upside of supplanting Saddam and proving to the world that democracy can work in the region will be worth the backlash. I really do believe, Bush believed that....and you know, who's to say he is wrong; no one will certainly know for a good while down the road, which is why Bush thinks history will be kinder to his administration than the current liberally biased media.
Secondly, the VMA's were a shadow of its former self. It looked PATHETIC! The whole thing seemed sloppy...people were holding mics over their faces and everything. Then they give Britney 3 awards, and I don't even know the name of the song. It was ridiculous. MTV is ridiculous. Back in June I was looking at their tv schedule and thinking things had hit rock bottom with only 2-3 hours of musicvideos on the schedule...but now the only music left is TRL, and we all know they show a total of like 15mins of musicvideos. How do they get by calling themselves Music Television? The owners of that station should be ashamed of themselves. Then you have the music companies crying about declining sales and blame it on p2p downloading instead of considering that the only way music is promoted now is through TV commercials. It's just sad.
MTV = DEAD.

I didn't see the VMA's (because if there's one thing left and right can agree upon, it's that MTV sucks donkey balls) but I thought he was hilarious in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. And there is nothing anybody could say, no matter how shockingly vicious, about George Bush that I wouldn't approve of. He's the epitome of evil and he deserves far worse than whatever was said about him at some wannabe awards show.

I have disagreements about Bush's wisdom into going into Iraq, but until the Democrats stop worshipping FDR as the greatest president ever, your words ring hollow. I just have to say one word---Yalta!!
