I really don't understand Conservative America. They treat these elections like they are sports. They don't even care who they elect so long as they win. They don't understand that everyone in America loses when we don't put the best candidates into office. It's really pathetic.

Pat O'Brien Out of The Insider

By Natalie Finn Thu Sep 18, 9:34 AM PDT Pat O'Brien (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/_ylt=Aqfzbz7H.4SER.lNa.oz552Go9EF/SIG=11bgmbkia/**http%3A//tv.yahoo.com/contributor/777778) is hanging up his mic.
The longtime TV personality is leaving his post as a correspondent on the syndicated celebrity-gossip show The Insider after more than four years on the job.
No official reason for his departure was given, but a rep for the show indicated that it was a mutual decision.
"Pat O'Brien (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/_ylt=Aiq_fDeUmWE778FdAf9nQf.Go9EF/SIG=11bgmbkia/**http%3A//tv.yahoo.com/contributor/777778) is a talented broadcaster who has been a part of The Insider family from the very beginning," the rep said in a statement to People. "Although we have decided to part ways, everyone at CBS Television Distribution and The Insider greatly appreciate and respect all his contributions to our show. We wish Pat much success in his future endeavors."
The news comes just days after O'Brien, 60, showed up in Des Moines, Iowa, prompting speculation that he and a camera crew were on the trail of vice presidential candidate Joe Biden's wife, Jill.
Although it's also possible that O'Brien was there to thumb his nose at his own show.
In an email sent over the weekend to staffers at the Insider and sister show Entertainment Tonight (http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/_ylt=AucGx_qky5Z6Y4rWwcNiwXOGo9EF/SIG=113vmglh3/**http%3A//tv.yahoo.com/show/30258), O'Brien seemingly took issue with the show's focus on fashion while people all over Iowa are struggling to put food on the table.
"Hi, folks, I just spent a couple of days in Iowa—I'm a little bit of a favorite son there," the South Dakota-born newsman said, per a copy obtained by the New York Post, "and I spoke with maybe a thousand people and was very hands-on. Even Joe Biden said, 'You should be running [for president]!' But what I came away with was, these people can't afford gas, books, food or schools or movies!

Biden makes Bush seem eloquent.

"In what respect is Joe Biden a science teacher, Charlie?"

Nobody cares about Biden's gaffes. The press corps likes him and is well aware that he is a blowhard who thinks out loud the first draft of his opinions. Anything he says, the Obama campaign can just disavow with a simple "that's just Joe being Joe."

I thought it was pretty funny. I like when politicians make mistakes and don't get thousands of people killed (see George W. Bush).
