you know sandwich is named after the Earl of Sandwich who had food brought to him in that form so he wouldn't have to leave his gaming table.

Speaking of sammiches, I broke a several month long boycott of Subway today. Pretty good.

I was really craving a good Subway meatball sub so I went and got one and it was just terrible. The bread was all crusty, the sauce was all clumpy an thick, the meatballs were hard and nasty, the tomatoes and red onions I got on it weren't good. I wasn't satisfied so I went to a different location the next day; same thing. Waited a couple days, went to a third location; no good. I was still really craving a good meatball sub, I couldn't get it out of my head, so I went into one final location and asked how the meatballs were, they looked at me like I was crazy and told me they were good, but when they opened up the meatball holder in the counter I could tell they were awful, so I said, "those meatballs suck," and walked out. I resolved not to go to Subway for a long time.

Anyway, that was like March or so and I finally went back today and got a meatball sub. :tu.

They must have had a ton of complaints or business must have been way down or something, because I quit going there a while back too. The sandwiches I was getting were barely edible.

But my boss was buying lunch there for everyone just last week so I caved, and I swear, that was probably one of the best sandwiches I'd had in a long, long time. I wasn't consciously boycotting, though. :lol

I used to say so, but the Quiznos by my house/office got shut down because their franchise owner stole a bunch of customer's credit card numbers and sold them.

In any event, I'm glad to hear Subway worked out for you too SW. Even if a good sandwich from there is a rarity these days.

Hard to get your credit card stolen when you pay cash.

The Firehouse Subs by my place closed down. Their meatball sub kinda sucked.

We eat at the one on Babcock/Huebner, and it's really good. We don't get the meatball sub, though.
