Introducing a new series to FSP. Inspired by the legendary classic work...

http://images.amazon.com/images/P/6304432380.01.LZZZZZZZ.gif

...FSP now pauses to reflect on the great debates in FSP history.

Does anyone remember when "Ginobili v. Giricek" captivated Spurs fan forums like no other argument? Surely the Spurs had erred in their choice of Ginobili over Giricek, right?

This has been FSP Recollectionsİ. Brought to you by SPARKY.

Are we talking about real debates or ones that someone starts (a la Sequ, mouse, GhostHarper) and then crawls out from under the pile-on laughing while everyone else fights?

SPARKY

Well actually I was just thinking about that debate in particular.

The subject of an upcoming FSP Recollectionsİ will be the Derek Anderson v. "Man Seed" debate.

the mouse vs. sequ, who's taller debate was classic...

malik vs HITA was intriguing....

GW and the ballas vs Spurs FO is always good fodder...

lakerlanny vs. reality is not bad....

Today's installment of FSP Recollectionsİ

Once upon a time a certain journalist in his own mind claimed that the Spurs were going to unleash a 'secret weapon' in the postseason. He was dead certain about this. But it was all hush hush. He had his sources you see, so everything had to be kept on the down low.

So who was that 'secret weapon'?

Yes,

That was so damn classic.

"The Spurs have a secret weapon but they aren't going to show it until the playoffs and then they'll surprise the whole league. Sorry but I can't tell you, you'll have to watch."

I haven't lived in SA since 1999. Which journalist was this?

Probably Buck Harvey. I still haven't forgiven him for "Lakers in 6"

But really, I don't know, because I was unconscious toward Spurs Basketball before the signing of a certain Frenchman.

Searching for some old articles of mine and found this through Google. With March coming, I thought it appropriate.

"Every time the calender turns March, KG's nuts retreat."

No need for them to shrivel this year.

Nothing on the line, them being a lottery team and all.

I had to bump this thread since, yes, once again, the quote about March is appropriate.

Understand the word "journalist" was used somewhat loosely, but the person in question's name rhymed with "Gusty Darza"....;)

Today's installment of FSP Recollectionsİ

Once upon a time, a resident of Connecticut bemoaned the fact that the Spurs did not have any young players of color with ties to the "Hip Hop community". This was of great distress to him.

The Spurs have since rectified this deficit.

Well, this wasn't a debate...but my FSP recollection is when I first posted. I was asked for a picture, and stupidly and naively I posted one. Guys were scary, girls were mean, and all of this is why I don't post pictures anymore.:)

Remember when....

Remember when G-Dub, in an odd twist, had Marcus Bryant's back?

Spurs fans had moved so far up Holt's lower bowels that GW and MB found themselves on the same side.

Was D Fish's shot legit??? And if discussing it meant we were sore losers or simply stating that the 'laws of physics' could not be broken.
