Since I just got my PS3 a few weeks ago, I've been catching up on all the HD goodness. Saw 300, Transformers.... bought Cloverfield. All awesome with the surround sound. Any other blu-ray that are must see or must own?

Apocalypto, it's gratuitously violent and disgusting for no purpose, but the jungle looks cool in 1080p. Worth renting.

Really the only thing in Blu-ray that I haven't regretted buying is the Planet Earth series. In fact, it's so cool I would have gladly payed thrice as much as I did.

Ah, forgot to mention, Planet Earth was the first thing I bought! Totally awesome, I use it to show off the set whenever we have a new visitor to the house!

Instead of buying you should join netflix as the cost of 1 DVD gives you two months of unlimited rantals at 3 at a time…they rent out blu-ray as well as regular dvd's….worth the cash. Been a member for 5 or 6 years.

I can't stand J-Lo, but The Cell and Out of Sight are both worth breaking that rule.

out of sight would have been pretty good if not for those incredibly annoying still transitions.

What are their prices like? CD Exchange also has used Blu-Rays and HD-DVDs. I have a Samsung BP-UP5000 dual format player. Anything new I get on Blu-Ray, back collection acquisition is used HD-DVDs.

Heroes is awesome on Blu-Ray. I also really enjoyed Planet Earth.

Its the way things were back then. It has a bit of educational value.

Yeah I agree, they were savages and warriors back then from what the history books tell us. I thought it was done really well and is a great movie. The jungle in blu ray is amazing.

What store did you go to? I just got T2: Judgment Day for $9.99 on Blu-Ray at the Bitters store this week. It seems like most are 14.99, 17.99, or 19.99. You also have to shop regularly to check for deals. Any store can also check the inventory of all stores if there is something specific you are looking for. The also have a frequent buyer card. You fill 10 spots, you get a used item up to $9.99 for free. Two cards gets you a used item up to $19.99 for free. I'll bet I'm in the top ten card cashers in SA. :lol

Non Disclaimer: I am not in any way affiliated with CD Exchange, other than as a very satisfied customer.

I went to the one off IH-10 and Wurzbach, I believe that's the Colonnade.

I really want to see The Godfather on Blu-Ray, but I don't want to spend almost seventy dollars just yet, I need to see if anybody I know has it so I can borrow it.

Anyone here seen it on BR yet?

Yep.

It's pretty freaking sweet.

Let me tell you, Iron Man really shows off what 1080p is all about. Not as fantastically jaw-dropping as Planet Earth, but a marvelous movie in it's own right.

Agreed on the Planet Earth series...mind-blowing.

The visuals on "Across the Universe" are unbelievable...conversely, the ones on "Speed Racer" might make you vomit.

dude if you think the matrix is what revolutionize the CGI bs in movies...go rent "storm riders" a very popular movie among asian martial arts/comic fans, part 2 is also in the making atm....

Large list from my collection coming; I would say that Iron Man, Blade Runner, the Planet Earth series, Sunshine, Lost season 3, Rambo (2008), all the Disney Blu-rays, Batman Begins, I Am Legend, Hellboy, Transformers, Spider-Man 3, FF: RotSS, 300, V for Vendetta, Pan's Labyrinth, Cloverfield and The Terminator are some of the must-see Blu-rays in my opinion. There are loads more but those are some of my favorites in terms of film quality and PQ of the disc.

Highdefdigest.com is a good source for reviews of BD and even HD DVDs so you know of some good ones to pick up. Also, be sure to use Amazon if possible to buy the discs, as it's simply the best and cheapest place to get BDs from.
