Just read he's probably going to be waived, I hear he's down to 200 pounds, why not offer him something cheap and just waive him if he messes up, he does fit the Spurs criteria, 30+.

You really think Marbury fancies himself a backup playing for "something cheap?"

Howard Beck of the New York Times reports that the Knicks are expected to part ways with Stephon Marbury.

"Most of the Knicks' top rotation players from last season have been scrimmaging at the team's training center," writes Beck. "The group has included Jamal Crawford, Eddy Curry, David Lee, Nate Robinson, Jared Jeffries, Wilson Chandler and Zach Randolph, as well as the free-agent pickup Chris Duhon. The most notable absence has been Stephon Marbury, who is expected to be waived before the season."

If he changes his attitude I wouldn't mind it if we get him for the minimum..
But he's not going to change and there's no way he's taking less money...

Marbury and Duncan together didn't work out too well last time.

If he got the wide open shots Vaughn did last year, he will knock them down.

Marbury is going where the money is, period. Even if the Spurs wanted him, they can't afford him. Maybe he'll go to Greece and take VSpan's job. They'll pay his rent and get him a car, you know.

marbury sucks! i hate that dumb, overpaid, overrated SOB.

Vaughn will do a better job at keeping our team winning than Marbury.

Please!

In no way, shape, or form does Marbury fit any of the Spurs criteria. For that matter, he doesn't fit any of the Knicks criteria. An inherently selfish, baller like Marbury wouldn't last one practice under Pop's tenacious, defensive-oriented, coaching style.

He's good enough to take a chance on. You know that. He's clutch and is old enough to learn from his mistakes. He's a good guy (see his community donations, Katrina contributions and his compassion for children) and he just needs a solid team foundation and you'd see the best out of Starbury IMO.

you mean the guy that complained and cried when he had to come off the bench and then said he was going to beat Manu for the 6MOY award? No thank you. We don't need anyone like that. He would have to come off the bench here anyways so why would he take it.

For you guys that continously tout this acquisition, keep dreamin. You clearly have no understanding as to what type of player and person Marbury really is.

While Isiah Thomas had as much to do with the sorry state of the Knicks as anyone, do not overlook Starbury and his on and off-the-court selfishness.

Need more proof? Ask KG what it was like to play along with Starbury. Do not be fooled. This guy is a team cancer and all the losing he's endured has not changed him one bit. He's all about his stats, his shots and his way. Stay away!

For the min, it is a nice gamble for a contender. If he sucks and/or has a bad attitude, just cut him.

For Spurs ? I don't know. I rather give Hill his chance but if Hill sucks, Marbury would be worth the try.

Maybe the great James Gist will get a chance this year to throw down a few monster dunks on Marbury.
