Antonio brought an All-Star and championship after a long dryspell. If we can get the same by moving Malik then it would be crazy not to.

I miss AD. I still think he will find his way back to the Spurs someday.

Hey if Beno turns out to be ALL that, we could trade TP and another Spur for AD and Rashard Lewis.

For the benefit of the morons, I'm just kidding; although, it is an interesting thought.

I still want TP.

No ring in 03.

I mean sure lets keep Antonio. He was SUPER Clutch.

You keep Antonio you limit Manu's development, and probobly limit stephen Jackson's a little bit too.

Now were complaing about trading a tweener guard instead of having an all star shooting guard, a great shooter who practically won the western finals clinching game.
And now a great young point guard.

Wait, all three players are white, AND, two are foreign.

Makes sense now.

So what? Kerr is doing TV right now what good does that do the team? AD is a fucking 6th man of the year candidate.

You don't know how 2002-03 turns out with AD instead of Kerr.

You don't know how 2002-03 turns out with AD instead of Kerr. But we know how 02-03 turned out without AD, so who cares? AD couldn't play the point here and was too short to play the 2. It took another four teams for this guy to find an offense that he fits in. I'm glad for him but it would've been stupid to keep him for another x number of years hoping he might finally get it someday.

So what? The Spurs let a good talent slip away and we're supposed to worship the front office? Get real.

AD is a good player, he is my candidate for 6MOY. I would not mind having him on this team. I think he could fit in well as a combo guard off the bench. He never turns the ball over.

It didn't work out perfectly for AD in SA or Portland. But he still could be a quality player in the Spurs system today IMO. He was not the right guy to start at the 1 or 2, but as a bench player can give a team a lot.

The Spurs let a good talent slip awayWe traded for Kerr and got a pick back. And won a championship. I'll give the FO credit for that one.

I bitched way more about not picking up Claxton's option. He could actually play the point.

Weak.If he was being punked by this dude in a pickup game. AD's game sure was weak. You also did nothing to address the fact he couldn't play the point here. Typical. He had more than enough chances.

SPARKY

Yeah, AD can't hang with a dude in a pickup game but he can have a NBA career and be a serious NBA 6th man of the year candidate. Yeah.

Shit happens when you play ball. Even TPark could manage to score on someone good. BFD.

Uh, T Park couldn't score on Jack Haley lets put that to rest right now.

It is in the past. Antonio wasn't working.

Kerr did and so is Ginobili, Devin Brown, and Beno Udrih.

Yes, because they replaced him with Manu!

If AD is the reason the spurs don't beat the sonics, and then the spurs flat out suck.

AD never reached his potential, for a guy being the #4 pick was a bust, plus, he would fold in the playoffs those years we lost back to back to LA.

Yeah I'd much rather have AD than Manu, come on now. I like AD too, but he became a cancer in the locker room as did Malik last year and I am sure Malik still complains. We dont need these guys. Scola is lights out more talented than Malik and will come cheaper.

Malik was never a cancer in the locker room. Why do people just make stuff up that they know nothing about? Malik has always been nothing but one of his teammates' best cheerleaders. Ask Pop, he'll tell you the same thing.

Out of curiosity, what was the deal with AD in San Antonio? Was he a major locker room cancer, or did he just pout a little bit for being benched for Tony Parker?

Can someone fill me in -- it would be appreciated. Thanks.

In case nobody here notices, players get moved around in this league until they find their niche. Apparently Antonio is a capable 6th man.

Meanwhile, in his place we have a guy whose progressed from 6th or 7th man to starter to all-star. And is one of those players you pay to watch because of his exciting style of play.

If the Spurs could hold on to every past player that could fill a little niche, we'd have 20 players on the bench and 10 on IR. Players like Hart, Daniels, Hedo, Claxton, etc are all gone for reasons and decisions that were made by the coaches and FO. More will be gone next year or this year if Malone comes in.

We're leading the league and most people think our current mix is the best in the NBA> Let's worry about the ones we got, not about the ones that aren't here.

I still like AD. But this roster has little need of a combo guard. So, you know, tough breaks. You can't keep every good player that comes along. I'll take Parker/Manu over AD/HITA about 20 times out of 10.
