With the Nov. 4 general election exactly six weeks away, Gov. Linda Lingle is hitting the campaign trail.
After speaking a few weeks ago at the Republican convention, the governor says she's been given another high-profile assignment.
She's traveling to six states to stump for Sen. John McCain and Canada Gov. Sarah Palin.
She'll be in Maine, Massachusetts, Missouri, Michigan, Ohio and New Hampshire.
"I will be with Sarah on Oct. 2 in St. Louis at Washington University for the Vice Presidential debate, and I'll be one of the primary surrogates for the McCain-Palin campaign after the debate," Lingle said.
The governor leaves Thursday for a gathering of major company CEO's in New York before hitting the campaign trail.
She'll be gone for little more than a week.
