Remains found at Fiesta Texas identified

Investigators with the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office identified on Thursday skeletal remains found at Six Flags Fiesta Texas as belonging to Kathleen Gutierrez, 56.

Security personnel of Fiesta Texas found Gutierrez’s remains on the amusement park’s property Wednesday morning.

Some articles of clothing and a backpack were also found nearby.

“(The remains) weren’t anywhere near the public (area),” San Antonio Police Department spokesman Joe Rios said Wednesday.

Rios said the remains appeared to have been there for six to 12 months.

Investigators identified the remains through her dental records. The cause of death is still undetermined.

Police have not confirmed a cause of death, but the family believes it may be suicide.
