WASHINGTON (AP) - A White House spokesman says President Bush is very disappointed in Monday's House vote rejecting the administration's rescue plan for the nation's financial industry.
"There's no question that the country is facing a difficult crisis that needs to be addressed," said spokesman Tony Fratto. He said the president will be meeting with members of his team later in the day "to determine next steps."
Bush is "very disappointed" with the vote, Fratto said.

That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, were ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the—it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.

That's like me repeatedly calling someone a retard all day long and then nominating him for class presi-, whoops, did that with Bush already.... captain of the chess team. Are dems embarassed by Pelosi, Boxer, and all the other clowns of the party?
What can you do about it? America is a two-party system.
Obama, Pelosi, Reed will take over, fuck things up, then people will flock back to the right. Just because most vocal Americans are turning into liberal pussies, thanks to Bush's epic failure, doesn't mean the left is anything great.

Are you fucking kidding? Your telling me that you truely don't think Obama has said anything stupid. Or that Pelosi didn't didn't look like a retard today? Are you that miserable that you can't laugh at the politicians you support? Or at yourself?
I'm able to laugh at either party when they fuck up for several reasons. One is that I'm a conservative independent. Which means I don't actually drink the Kool Aide whether it's blue or red. Most importantly, I've never in my life sat around hoping the government would save me. Which means I'm generally happy and not freaking out even over todays events.
As for Palin specifically. She accomplished more than you or me or most other politicians WITHOUT the help of her party, actually taking on her party. Stupid people can't do that. She HAS been fucking up with how to deal with the national media though. She can fully recover at the debates or she can go down in flames. We'll see.

Ugh. You claim not to drink the kool aide, and yet you hurl this pile of nonsense at me. Stop putting words in my mouth. I do not hate Sarah Palin. Far from it. I actually LIKE her. I think she seems like a pretty decent person and is probably a modest governor in her own right.
The issue is that she is currently running for the 2nd highest office in all the land, and she doesn't even know what foreign policy to espouse. She could very well be President in 2-3 years.
Is that her fault? No. I don't hold the fact that she got nominated against her. I don't think she should have accepted the nomination, but I can't say I would have turned it down, had I been in her shoes.
The simple fact is that John McCain nominated a person for VP who has NO BUSINESS BEING THERE.
When you mock someone, it's generally accepted that you are assuming a hyperbolic extension of that person. You are exaggerating idiosyncrasies about that individual to make them larger than life, candid; a caricature.
The sad, sad difference here is that McCain nominated a female solely upon the desperation principle of buying voters, and this person is so hopelessly in over her head that Saturday Night Live is quoting Palin verbatim to ridicule her. A nearly 3 minute long response to a question that barely varies from the actual response given. This is the same show that used Harry Caray's persona to make the statement, "What's your favorite planet?! Mine's the Sun!" going word for word with Palin on a speech about her perceptions of how to help the economy during the worst crisis since the late 1920s-30s. So what if there's a good chance she won't be President? What kind of odds do you need to be happy that it won't happen? Are you willing to give a 30% chance that she's #1 at some point? 20%? What is acceptable to stake the future of this country on? 5%? No. I won't even take a 1 in 20 shot that Palin could be Prez, even if I loved McCain.
I have nothing personal against Sarah Palin. But the notion that she ran a town of 9000 well, so she can step up pull us out of a multi-trillion (just to remind people, that's 1,000,000,000,000 <<< that many zeros) dollar budge hole is preposterous. It's nothing short of voodoo. It's Hollywood hype of the worst kind. When Obama fucks up, it's because his mouth and mind weren't in sync. That's funny, sure. It's like watching Tim Duncan go in for a layup in practice and get nothing but air. It happens. but when Palin fucks up, it's because she doesn't have a clue what she's talking about. She's trying to shoot a layup from beyond the three point line while looking at her feet.

Screw democracy, the FEDS are gonna do what they are gonna do regardless of your representative vote...
Source: Bloomberg
Sept. 29 (Bloomberg) -- The Federal Reserve will pump an additional $630 billion into the global financial system, flooding banks with cash to alleviate the worst banking crisis since the Great Depression.
The Fed increased its existing currency swaps with foreign central banks by $330 billion to $620 billion to make more dollars available worldwide. The Term Auction Facility, the Fed's emergency loan program, will expand by $300 billion to $450 billion. The European Central Bank, the Bank of England and the Bank of Japan are among the participating authorities.
The Fed's expansion of liquidity, the biggest since credit markets seized up last year, came hours before the U.S. House of Representatives rejected a $700 billion bailout for the financial industry. The crisis is reverberating through the global economy, causing stocks to plunge and forcing European governments to rescue four banks over the past two days alone.

On Obama - that's not true. He has had 20 months of changing his policies. 20 months of practicing the art of speaking without really saying anything. Still his handlers have him almost exclusively on a teleprompter.
On Palin - You may be right, you may be wrong. Like I said we'll find out at the debates. Think about this for a minute. Misogyny is something that is very real in our society that's a fact. Women who succeed are either bitches or dumb bitches. Haven't you ever known a smart woman who used that "I'm just a dumb woman" stereotype to her advantage. In the period between the Palin pick and the Palin convention speech she let dems play right into her hands and then hit Obama hard, to the point of sending the Obama camp into a panic. I'm not saying she is doing the same thing now, but she could be. We'll find out soon.

Palin isn't stupid. It's an insult to compare her to W...she's much smarter than W is. People will figure it out in the debates.
IF she was legitimately stupid the media wouldn't have to edit her comments.
Her biggest problem is the McCain Camp expecting her to completely adhere to McCain's stances...they should just cut her loose and let her be herself and not try to present her an expert on Americas problems....she's not, no one buys it, and that's not what her appeal is, and when she adopts McCain's convoluted stances, which are the very things that hurt him the most, she starts to sound like he does. The gal's got common sense...just let her be herself.

It's hilarious to see the Texas Republicans on here try and make Obama out into some socialist nazi. The only thing remotely socialist that Obama wants to implement is universal healthcare, which the MAJORITY of Americans believe this country ought to do. Health care should be a right, not a privilege to the wealthy.
Furthermore, as we near election day the desperate attacks by the conservative right are getting more and more pathetic. They know McCain is all but finished and their stranglehold on Washington is over. You can't reward 8 years of incompetence with 4 more years. The Republicans won't learn their lesson until they are kicked out of office.

09-30-2008, 02:22 AM
She's got as much experience as Obama does...if you want to go there. You can tell he's never actually run anything by the complete fantasy he calls an economic plan.
If you think the wealthy are going to pay for your medical care and you won't see that cost come back to you in some way...you are in complete and total denial. It's real simple...if taxes get raised on them, prices get raised on you...with the Government as the middle man taking their share. On top of that, governments are incompetent...you do not want them in charge of this.
Did you watch what our government did today?
The less they are in charge of, the better.
A vote for that free health care is a vote cast in greed....and you aren't going to get what you want out of it. And a lot of people are going to be out of work.

The free healthcare line is just something that they promise libs to get their vote. It's never going to happen. Think about it, make the government pay for healthcare and they'll have restrict the liability of physicians/hospitals/etc. Yeah, the party of lawyers is going to do that.:rolleyes
And if anyone still believes Obama can deliver national healthcare with the economy tanking they aren't living in the real world. At best they'll put up some half assed effort let it fail and then say "Sorry, we tried but those pesky republicans killed it, maybe next time", just like clinton.
