A pair of Spurs tickets, a couple of cold packs, one of those little hand-held fans and a big can of bug spray.

Online mapping is great, but one of those fold-up laminated street maps to keep in the car can be very helpful.

They have that "Taste of San Antonio" coffee at HEB, that might be nice? We always send that to my aunt who is living in South Carolina right now...and she loves it.

Perhaps a book about the history of San Antonio?

only if this person is 16 and under. They are the ones most likely to get pregnant for some reason. I think it's the water

My MIL is crazy about that stuff. She lives in Colorado and comes down to visit family about once a year - and every time she leaves she takes enough of it with her to last until the next visit.

Tickets to local attractions would be nice, such as the zoo, a museum, or Natural Bridge Caverns. If you want to splurge, a show at the Majestic Theatre or the Symphony would be even nicer.

No food. The people in that town are to fat already. Be a good neighbor and put baskets together with diet and exercise tips. Not just for the new person but everyone.

:tu

They moved the store just off of Main, actually but the name is the same. There are tons of Texas-themed books and gifts that I haven't found anywhere else, and they buy stuff from local artists and jewelers to sell there as well. The peeps who work there are awesome and super friendly.

:lol I was just in there today buying a Halloween card. I've always loved that store.

I was thinking of going to Mi Tierra for some local goodies, maybe pick up some Texas wine from Central Market and I'm hoping to get a few items from the CVB. I might also pick up a San Antonio mug from Starbucks.

Thanks to all for the ideas!
