Just wondering if anyone has dropped a good amount of weight or has some kind of experience with this. I need to drop a few lb’s more for health reasons than anything else. So far I have gotten the gym membership. I don’t want to shotgun it though and just run around doing different things because they look cool or it’s next to some eye candy. Also I am not a weight watcher eating, slim fast drinking, pill poppin’, stomach clampin’ sumbitch. I’m not that 160 pound chiseled stud I used to be. I was slim and in shape but I didn’t do anything to maintain it. I was just built that way. Then I got hurt and had to take steroids, anti-inflammatory pills, etc. and then BOOM 100 pounds out of nowhere.

No fail method
Walk then jog then run. Smaller more frequent meals. Lots of fruit and water. Cut out the booze. Cut back the sodas considerably.

This is what makes it suck. I always ate and drank what I wanted and it looked like I was always in the gym. Then I had to go and pretend I was MJ and some idiot wanted to play Bill Laimbeer and there went my f'n knees. I swear I didn't know what I had until it was gone.

I hear ya. I was in decent shape and now I couldn't last 5 minutes in a half court game. I've been down this road before and cutting back the booze and sodas along with even just minimal exercise will make a huge difference.

It's called age. I used to be a running fool when I was young and during my military years I averaged at least 5 miles a day and was one lean mean fighting machine. But then afterwards it just got harder and harder and the metabolism that did me well slowly dried up and I began to gain the weight.
But I'm not on the health craze either though. I still eat like a neanderthal.

First thing you need to do is clean your colon....I know i know, your like, wtf?, but if you want to lose 7-10 lbs in about 3-5 days, then follow these links, one is for the diet, the other is for the product, I am not affiliated with either site, but the guy who wrote "stay lean 4 life" lives in SA & after taking a required class to get my LO's license which he tought, I learned about this program, it worked for me. I've lost over 20 lbs without excercising, I also used to be able to eat a huge mexican plate, or 2 or 3 servings of pasta, but after you do the program, your stomach shrinks & u dont eat as much..check it out & let me know...

I can relate, although not to the degree of 100 pounds. Two words: freshman fifteen. Never lost it, and in fact, I doubled it over the years. So, I went from 165 to 195, and now I'm around 178 and falling. I'm not a drinker, but I used to stuff my face when I ate (especially at restaurants).
This isn't some magical plan, and it depends on age, body type, genes, etc... Anyway, just watch what you eat, and eat less and more often. I hate fad diets or the "holy shit carbs!" routine, so it's not about not eating the things you like, but just don't eat the garbage out there (fast food, processed crap that's ready-to-eat). Just be smart about it. Want a snack? Eat some fruit or something healthier than, say, donuts (fuck, I ate two today). Thirsty? Try water. And of course, exercise.

Shit this is going to be harder than I thought. Here is what I thought was right. I thought the more stuff you ate with preservatives the better. I figured that since they were in there to preserve the food and make it last longer it would make me live longer too.

Don't feel bad: it's a common mistake. Hell, I believed that too until one day my cock fell off (thank Baby Jesus for velcro). So, watch those preservatives a.k.a. p.p.poison.

The key I found was to exercise...yes weight training definitely helps but being active is paramount. Join a b-ball league or any sport of your choice. Also walk minimum 1 hour per day and start jogging when your conditioning permits it. You'll see huge gains and just remember to drink a lot of water and cut out the carbs. Also, drink Diet soda's if you can't stop with the cola outright.

my brother in law, cousin and myself recently made that same bet a few months back. we each put in $50 to see who could lose the most weight...we all had a pre weigh in and then set a final weigh in day...I lost 13lbs in abouyt two months...I did lose about 5 lbs in a week though just off of exercise and no sodas...but it only lasted so long cause I lost my motivation but I still one the bet...The first couple of weeks is always easy to me but its sticking with it that sucks makes it a challenge...I would be down to enter the contest...lets set a start date with a weigh in and an end date...Kori holds the money...big flap get your ass in it too so if by some chance you win you can buy your 360 and get smoked like a mouse on a grill...

A few easy ways I used to drop 45 pounds in about 4/5 months a few years ago:
1) No sodas and cut out junk food crap
2) Jog/run 2 miles 4 to 5 times a week (it's not nearly as hard as it sounds, although it is very hard in the beginning).
3) No chips before my Mexican food
4) Eat a decent salad every once in a while.
5) Still eat the meals you like; just don't go overboard on them as compensation for skipping the snacks in step 1.
Nothing makes you feel better and happier than being in good health. I've let myself get 30 pounds overweight the last couple of years from lack of exercise and working desk jobs, but after a week of running and jogging 2 miles a day it has become easy. It only gets easier as you go along and build confidence and strength.

not body fat %,
just weight lost/starting weight
i.e.
lets say tpark weighed 300 and lost 30.
that would be 30/300=10%.
highest percentage wins.

get away from deep fried food and ice cream .
walk 8000 steps per day ,or jog half an hour . aerobic is all you need , no intensity !!! keep doing it for 1 year .
i dont approve people to lose their weight( more than 20 lbs) in a few weeks . losing weight is a process , you gotta take it step by step . no need to diet . for those who lost weight by dieting , i bet you will regain it back very soon or you will have healthy problem .

I had tons (TONS TONS TONS) to lose that I really gained once I got out of college and out of rec leagues, etc... doing the 9-5 every day really took me out of being active for a while. The wife wanted a treadmill (which she has hardly used) and I caved knowing I would use it to a degree. I work out 40 minutes on it early every morning before shower and heading to work... watch tv seasons on dvd's or stuff off of the DVR to keep my mind busy - it's worked well. Ate better in general... ate less to a degree, but more healthier than anything. I've dropped ~75-80 lbs since February but have definitely slowed down as of late as the super easy fat to get rid of is gone.

I dropped from a 40" waist to a 34" hitting the gym for weights, walking in the evening and (I am with TPark on this) eating sensibly. Sodas are gross shit anyway and if you drop them for a while you won't feel inclined to pick them up again. Avoid grains (with the exception of oatmeal in the morning-not instant) especially breads (btw, whole wheat is a marketing term it does not mean whole grain). Just eat lean meats, veggies and fruit; no processed stuff. Didn't have to give up beer :)

Nothing fried, use common sense when cooking, ie. bake everything where possible - fries, fish, chicken - use ground turkey instead of ground beef where you can, if you have to cook with oil use pam or olive oil (good for your heart) easy on the tortillas (if you must), no white bread, if you have to have bread get the chunkiest whole grain kind possible, cut out sugar, cut out sodas, at least 30 minutes of walking every other day if not every day...it will get easier and you'll start to look forward to it. another trick is to drink a tall glass of water or two before you eat, you'll feel full faster and not eat as much. don't deprive yourself...if you want that burger..go for it...if you gotta have some fries...go for it...just don't do it all the time. if you allow yourself something "bad" once a month or so, it'll be easier than just going without. at fast food places...three words - grilled, chicken, sandwich. good luck!

That's a pretty extreme diet that not many people will follow long-term. Turkey substitutes for ground beef and bacon taste like crap.
Focusing on activity versus diet is way more important IMO. Running, swimming, playing basketball, riding a bike, etc. is a positive change that is lasting because it's fun. There's nothing enjoyable about cutting back so much of what one likes to eat though. Unless you're just stuffing yourself with fried chicken or puffy tacos all the time, exercise is what's going to have the best impact vs dieting.
I think it's just important to use common sense when eating. Eating until you're stuffed should be off limits, food with natural vibrant color almost always is better than dull brown, and so on.

ground turkey sauteed with olive oil, chopped onions, garlic, and possibly diced hatch green chiles is a pretty damn good substitute. personally, i use venison in lieu of ground beef myself, but then again i have a deep freeze full of it. i do agree with turkey bacon not being all that though.

You notice the people that ask for change are always thin, why not ask one of them?
Get off your ass and run 5 miles a day and you can eat or drink anything you want.
When I was in the Army we had fried fish butter bread sodas cakes macaroni and cheese etc... but we ran in the mornings and stayed busy all day.
My advise is to score some good speed if you want the easy way out. Have you ever seen a fat meth addict?

True about reading the label and I stand corrected about the whole wheat vs whole grain issue.
In order to be called "whole wheat" the product must contain a certain percent whole wheat flour (which means that most of the original wheat berry was used). So if you're buying products in the store, look for "whole wheat" products and then turn the package over and make sure that "whole wheat flour" is the first ingredient and any other types of flour are much lower on the list.
